No it doesn't. Well, it counts, but it does not count toward the 20 carbs you are allowed on induction. You can always subtract fiber!

That is the case in the USA, but in England all the nutritional labels are net carbs. I dont know about Sweden at all.

      Anyone else know?

Thank you, here is what happened I woke up during the night with really bad smoch cramps. I had something for the acids but after 2 hours without sleeping I went to the pantry and grabbed a wasa. Wasa is the national bread here. I checked, only 1,8 cabs per slice. ok. This morning I went to take another look...it was 10 ten carbs!!!! for someone who can have 25 a day...10 was almost half of waht I could eat today!
so I checked again...it was mostly fiber.I think.

here is the link to the wasa site. it is in english. It is safe.
        Sugar levels are specified.

          Re: sorry about it..

Thanks for posting the product url, Eleonore - good ADBB-style investigation!!

No it is not incduction legal as here are the ingredients for the different varieties
Ingredients (Sesam): Wheat flour, sesame seeds, vegetable fat, water, yeast, sugar, salt.

Ingredients (Rye): Rye flour (wholegrain), water, yeast, salt (1.4%), emulsifier (E471), spice etracts.

Ingredients (Hearty Rye): Rye flour (wholegrain), water, yeast, salt (1.4%), emulsifier (E471).
So once you are on the grains rung of OWL it will be a good food to use, but in moderation.

Now for the carb counts . . .
According to the info listed (for the sesame ones - the others are a little lower in carbs) there are 9 net carbs per slice after the fibre of 1 gram has been deducted from the total 10 carbs.
You know the fibre has been deducted already as it is listed in a separate part of the nutrition list, not immediately below the carbs figure. Also if it had been included in the carbs count (like the sugars) it would have been shown in brackets () immediately after the carbs like the sugars are.

So once you are on the grains rung of OWL you could add one HALF of a slice for your 5 net carbs (4.5 carbs actually). And later in premaintenance you could add one whole slice as you would be adding up to 10 net carbs if your CCLL allowed you to add more carbs and still lose weight.

In maintenance you would probably be able to eat a couple of slices every now and again.

          Hope this helps!

Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!

            Re: sorry about it..

I eat the WASA Fiber Rye crackers. Per USA labelling, 1 cracker has 7 total carbs, 2 fiber grams, for a net carb of 5.

That link is interesting. I wish we had round WASA crackers here in the US. Ours are the rectangle kind....
