  • Doesn't feel like a 'diet'.......

    Hello!! I am on day #5 of induction, and just don't feel like I am on a 'diet'. I know this isn't, its a WOL. I guess I feel like how can I lose weight when I am not hungry, depressed, thinking about food all the time, etc.... Those are all things I felt on every other 'diet plan' I tried before. Did anyone else feel this way?? I just can't believe how much better I feel already. I am so glad I found ADBB and all the wonderful people here. THANK YOU!!!
    What would we do without it?



    Mini-goal- 149 by June 1st. I can do it!!!

    Its amazing isn't it. And you are right, its not a diet, but a new way of eating and a new way of life.

        Yes, it ROCKS!! I have been drinking water like crazy!! I have a 16oz bottle, and every time its empty, I fill it right back up and start again!! My husband has been teasing me that I will float away!! Thanks everyone!!!!

            Woohooo for you, sunflowergrl !!
            Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?

            F/60 yrs/5ft 5.5" (Though due to collapsing vertebrae I am now only 5'3" - but I refuse to recalculate my BMI )

              aaahhhh the beauty of low carb. Isn't it wonderful? I have so much fun experimenting with real food!

                Yes, its wonderful!! I have lost 5 pounds already, and this is only day #5!!! I couldn't beleive it when I got on the scale this morning!!! I showed my husband your before/after pics, and he was impressed!! You are an inspiration!!!

                  Atkins is such a great feeling!

                  I like to think of the motto "Nothing tastes as good as thin feels" and change it in my mind to "Nothing tastes as good as Atkins feels!" That way, when I get frustrated with slow loss/stalls, I can remind myself that this WoE is a joy even without the losses.

                  I'm so happy you're all feeling the "buzz" too... The only thing more addictive than carbs is cutting them!!
                  No stats. Not weighing anymore ever. Will post "before and after" pictures when I want to. The end.

                    I know!! I am so glad I found ADBB and the Atkins WOL!!!! I can't imagine stuffing my chubby face with all those nasty carbs!!! Day #6 and still NO CHEATING!!!!! I can't beleive it, because it still seems unbelieveable!! I had to make myself eat 2 cups salad and a small burger pattie last night because I wasn't hungry! ME, not hungry!!!! I would have never believed it!!!!

                      good for you!

                      BUT when you are not hungry you don't force yourdelf to have a full meal/ Dr Atkins says if you have hit the 6 hour rule about eating and you are still not hungry have some of your carbs ( he means the good veggie kind on induction) with a small protein/fat snack. When your hunger returns you can eat again. this is the learning to feed only your hunger that you are going to need when you hit the higher parts of OWl and premaintenance and appetite suppression leaves.

                      start now and by then you will know your hunger

                        Thanks!! That is why I had the salad and small burger. I knew I needed my veggies and wanted the iron and protean from the meat. I had hypoglycemia (I KNOW I spelled that wrong!) when I was a child and still need my protean. Thanks for all the advice and help!!

                          looks spelled fin to me. you said you had it as a kid. Are you still making too much insulin? if so that may cause your Atkins to be slow going since yor cells are very used to getting mega insulin..

                            No, I was tested after I had my last baby (6 years ago) and I 'outgrew' it. I am not sure how that works, but the Doc said that can happen sometimes. I do still get light-headed if I don't get enough protean or go too long without eating. I am not sure if that is normal for everyone, or if it may just be something about me. Thanks for letting me know, I hope it doesn't slow me down but I am NOT giving up or giving in!!!

                              if you are normal then you don't need to worry about that may folk get headaches if they don't eat which was one reason that 6hr rules in there.
