My favourite place before I started atkins was starbucks but nothing on the menu seems acceptable.

I dont mean teas here either!!!

Apart from expresso is there anything in starbucks that can be drunk or eaten without piling on the carbs??

Their website has all the nutritional information, so you can search around to see if there's anything legal that you care for. But most of the lower carb drinks are espresso-based, or just plain coffee. You can get a decaf coffee with heavy cream and Splenda, which is legal, but somehow I'm guessing that isn't what you're looking for. The sugar-free syrups at Starbucks are okay, too, unlike the sugar-alcohol based syrups at some other coffee shops.

Now that I'm near maintenance, I sometimes get a cafe con leche (about 11 carbs for a grande).

I know you don't want to hear this because I didn't listen either (but I am now reformed!!)...

It is probably best to break those habits at least temporarily. The things that were your favorites are the most likely to cause you to crave things when you attempt to "half-way" replace them. If you cut them out, you really can get a control over it. If you try now to replicate it, you most likely won't be satisfied anyway. After induction cleans your tastes up, whatever you try is so much more likely to be satisfying and still "legal".

I now make my coffee at home for a treat. I just discovered a naturally decaf Mocha coffee by Gevalia. I add a packet of Splenda and some Heavy Whipping Cream. It is so good but I am glad I didn't have it in my two week induction. (I LOVE being cravings free!)

And, not to scare you, but my husband runs a cafe (not a Starbucks, but pretty close to one) and he has had to discipline employees in the past for giving customers regular syrup when they request sugar-free syrup. Not only is it rude and inconsiderate to people who are doing low-carb for weight loss/health improvement, a diabetic person could be physically harmed by such an error! It doesn't mean it doesn't happen though... the worst part is that the sugar-free syrups taste essentially identical to the regular syrups when mixed with coffee/milk/espresso so there's no way to know if you got the bad stuff... it would be a real shame to unintentionally cheat and mess up your ketosis just because a cafe barista mixes up your order by accident or doesn't like you and does it on purpose to be vindictive.

          Just something to think about.

I go to Starbucks all the time and love it. My regular order is "Tall House Blend with 1 ounce heavy cream and 1 packet of Splenda, & 2 shakes of ground cinnamon." Make sure the tally is around $1.62 and that they don't charge you 55 cents for the heavy cream. (They always take off the charge for me in the drive-thru; hey, it's free if you go in and ask for it!)

If I'm in the mood for something cold, I ask for a Large ("Venti") cup of ice & straw, & transfer it all over. The amount in the Small ("Tall") cup of coffee fills the Large cup to the brim due to the ice, & it's such a delightful little 2½-carb treat!

This is essentially what I get. I get a tall cafe Americano (2 shots of espresso + hot water). I usually put a packet of splenda in and maybe (sometimes) 1/2 tablespoon of half-and-half. Now that I know you can order a drink with heavy cream I'll see if I can do that straight up!

Never been to a Starbucks, but my treat after Saturday workout is a long black decaff with the cream on the side in a jug. They know me now at the cafe I go to!
