  • Met a Lady on the Trail today...

    Okay, so we get on the Tampa Bay Trail every Saturday and after doing it for months on end, we've seen alot of the same people. Today, we met a couple of bikers and chatted awhile. They were older, he was maybe 65 ? and she told me she is 62. They ride 10 miles a day! How cool is that.

    Anyhow, she was moderately overweight and, as we talked, she admitted to being insulin resistant. I asked her if she ever considered the Atkins Diet, to which she said "yes, but I got bored with all that meat" ... I said, 'yanno, its not just about meat ...' She said 'the problem is, there is nothing good to snack on with Atkins ...'

    She admitted she didn't really like veggies except for celery and even when she eats it, it has to have peanut butter in it. UGH. Then, she said she likes carrots, but they are too high in sugar (YES!) ..

    She kept saying over and over that she really needs to lose weight, but doesn't know how ... I think next weekend, I'm gonna take her a copy of DANDR.

    Oh and by the way, she couldn't believe that I could "stay on Atkins for 4 years". I said ITS THE EASIEST MOST SATISFYING WAY TO EAT IN THE WORLD. She just stared me up and down ..

    That is so awesome. That's what it's all about, it's about not only helping ourselves, but helping others!
    Don't forget to tell her about ADBB!! We would love to have her! LOL

      Maybe she is of the mindset atkins is induction forever good for you getting her the book. make her the induction carbd too if you got a printer so she has hwe list all the time too.
