Heartburn!!! AHHH!!!!!

  • Heartburn!!! AHHH!!!!!

    I have never really been one to get hearburn alot, but since I started this WOL, its been off and on. I know you can't take pepto or chewables, so once I drank a little cream and that helped a little but I dont' want to do that all the time. Anyone have any ideas???
    What would we do without it?



    Mini-goal- 149 by June 1st. I can do it!!!

    Frankenfoods- Low Carb Shakes, Bars, Candies.
    Sugar Alcohols= Weight loss stalls and cravings!!
    These are BAD for us!!!!

    Wow, that's surprising. My heartburn went completely away in this WOE. I used to take a pepcid complete per day just to keep it under control. And sometimes I'd have tums in between doses.

    Whenever I didn't have that available I'd drink a big glass of water and that seemed to help too.

    Maybe you have an intolerance to some sort of food you're eating. Take them out one at a time to see what it might be. Sodas will give me heartburn almost immediately after I drink them, so it's easier for me to leave them completely alone. When I drink alot of caffeine in tea, that'll do it to me too.

      mine has gone away with it too- however, if I ever cheat it is back and feirce! I find i am more likely to get it when I binge. even if its acceptable foods

        HMMM, I haven't cheated, and I have given up my diet sodas also. Is it ok to take pepsid on this WOL??

            Try some plain sparkiling mineral water (seltzer) or soda water. I get heartburn/indigestion after eggs or salmon, and this simple cure gets rid of it. Just a glass after the meal. But remember, it is in addition to the normal water.

              I find water helps my heartburn too, I used to think milk did it but then I eralized that HAD to be all in my head! Milk won't get rid of heartburn!!!!! Water does!

                Pepto bismol also comes in swallowable capsules, I don't see why those wouldn't be allowed?

                  Thanks for the tips! I try water ALL day long, and I tried drinking more water to help put he heartburn out, and it seemed to help. Thanks everyone!

                    Hang in there. I'm another person who totally went off daily prescription medication for hiatal hernia after a month on this woe.
