        Congratualtions!!

I have lost 28% of my body in one year with Atkins. I have became a health nut and an avid in-your-face supporter of Atkins and the fight against misinformation with what is "healthy" and what is not. I went from 218lbs down to 160lbs. My waist size went from 38 to 32. My shirt size from XXL to Medium. I feel great and am at, or very close to, my ideal weight. I eat healthy, try to be active and have more muscle than I have ever had in my life. I am in the best shape I have ever been in...

        Keep up the good fight!

            [B]CONGRATULATIONS AND HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!

It has almost been 3 years since I tried to do Atkins WOE and Failed--Woe is me! I admire all of you who have stayed the course and have won the battle. I wish I could do it too. I am always searching for a healthy WOE that will work for me. I have type 2 diabetes and have not yet found a plan that will help keep my blood sugars within target range. I need help finding good, easy, and economical meals for losing weight AND keeping blood sugars at good levels.

Your new Website is a little confusing for me but I hope to learn my way around soon, so I can catch up on all of your great success stories.

                    Happy Anniversary, ADBB!

Thanks so much for everything. I don't know what I'd do without somewhere to turn to talk to others going through the same struggles as me, to read about successes, trials and know I'm not in this alone. I can easily say ADBB has played a huge role in changing my life for the better.

Female / Currently on Extended Induction (again), begun 6/2/08.

I did Extended Induction from 1/3 to 5/9 (2006) and lost 55 pounds, so I know I can do it again!

                    The reason I quit...

                      Re: Third Anniversary Party!

Happy 3rd Anniversay ADBB!!!! Newbies - Take a moment to read the Anniversay posts - Some great stuff going on at the ADBB today!

I love the ADBB. Without you, this would have been a lonely and a difficult year and I probably would not have suceeded on Atkins. With you, I have found peace of mind. I have looked back at my original posts today and they brought a smile. Especially the posts in the depression forum. I have changed so much. Atkins and the ADBB pulled me out of my depression.
Its like reading about a different person.
                      I'm so grateful.

There is no possible way I can remember to thank everyone who helped me through my first year on Atkins. For those I skipped, forgive me. Everyone at the ADBB is family.

I'd like to personally thank the following people.

Moochie Cat - For honest communication, humor, and great support. For not taking any newbie BS from me! I hear people complain when the moderators are strict, but I know for myself that had I not been pushed to take induction all the way, I would not have found the success I did. For endless regurgitation. (heh, heh)

I really appreciate the volunteer moderators who put the truth out there, even if it means someone may not like their advice.

Canuck - For helping newbies in the diabetic forum and for dedicating a button to me! (I'll take a pork chop over glucophage any day!) Canuck is fun and gives EXTROIDINARY service to others.

Cleochatra - For humor and friendship and heart and honesty. What a wonderful human being you are!
For always telling the exact truth.

Peterlock - For everything - now where the heck have you gotten to? For giving up cigs! I love you!!!!

Elizellen - For inspiration, wise posting, always giving service to others. And gently, not a sledgehammer like me.

DesertThorn - For friendship and for caring enough to check up on me.

2big4mysize - For scientific expertise, wise posting, never ending service to others - may we never take you for granted.

Perry - For your endless and often thankless service to others on this board - for saying no but in a nice way. lol..

Richt - For your magnificent service to others on the board - You are nice - really nice! Yummy pics!

Kent - Your pics are astonishing, but its your dedication to the ADBB that keeps us seeing those pics. Thank you!
IrishIrish - For inspiration and service to others. Where are you dear one?

SugarfreeSheila - For inspiration and service to others.
Great website and recipes - especially to refer the skeptical younger generation to. Your advice is really
good for kids with eating disorders too.

Bikergoddess - For always sharing something wise and unusual beyond the ordinary. For using real life examples to demonstrate a point. I admire that.

There was a superfit gentleman who gave me advice on what vitamins to take for diabetes. I don't remember who he was, but I sure appreciate the valuable advice.

Papajack - For the most inspiring pics and Atkins journey story ever.

                        hey, happy 3rd anniversay.

i did atkins for just days and realized i couldnt do it anymore. i guess what works for some people doesnt work for others. in any case, i started simply exercisign an hour a day and eating no more than a certain numebr of calories, and between june 2005 and now, i have gone from 5'5'' and 165 lbs to 5'6'' and 148 lbs.

good luck to those who stayed in the program!
