It does feel good to overcome the wicked starbucks but it's probably going to be at least ten years before I can risk another weekend in paris walking past all those bakeries!

Savannah, can I just ask what stage of Atkins you are on? At 160 cms and 56 kg your BMI is 22 which is just about perfect! I assume you are in maintenance?

I know how you feel! I had trouble just walking past the bakeries at the Paris Hotel in Las Vegas, which is a poor substitute for the real thing!

Analog6 im just starting actually. going to do a weeks induction to break some habits and stabilise my blood sugars ans then perhaps move on to the next stage. I am at good BMI rate, but my normal weight where i feel comfortable and good is 53-54kgs, id really like to get back there before i go home in April.


Youll be glad to know that since i posted this i have still avoided buying any diet coke although think i might treat myself later tonight for pudding as last nights dinner made me feel quite yuck . Its taking me awhile to get used to all the fatty foods.

I still go to Starbucks--Only now I order a small decaf coffee and ask for the heavy cream they keep behind the counter(at least here in the U.S.). Most of them have Splenda also. I have gotten good at estimating the amount to put in. If I have used up my cream allowance I order a decaf green tea. They have a great selection of decaf tea. Atkins isn't about deprivation, its about living well. lol. The coffee fills me up and I don't even look at the pastries in the counter window. I always carry a packet or two of Splenda or Stevia with me, and if I am going to a coffee place and I don't know for sure if they carry real cream, I bring either a plastic vial or a zip lock plastic bag with my allotment of cream.
