  • Metabolic Resistance

I was looking for something I read in my DANDR a while back when I was looking for someone else, and saw this.

I read in the DANDR that dieting over and over and gaining it back multiple times will also increase your metabolic resistance and each time you diet, there is a chance your weight loss will slow dramatically. This is true even for Atkins. If you stop and start this diet over and over, while it is still possible for weight to be lost, and to correct the problem according to Dr. Atkin's directions, your metabolic resistance will increase and affect your weight loss on Atkins. Even for this wonderful diet, you can increase your resistance to weight loss by yoyo dieting. So, if you have done this before and are finding the weight slower to drop off this time, this might be the problem. Just stick it out.

I thought that was noteworthy. Also, if you are having trouble losing, PLEASE read the chapters in your DANDR to find out what might be causing it and how to fix it! Read it carefully!

      Re: Metabolic Resistance

the good thing is you can reduce your resistance by doing the mandatory exercise part of your plan and increasing your metabolism by re gaining the muscle nmass you lost in your yo-yo dieting days. Also Dr Atkins takes about how if you test out as metabolically resistnat based on your induction 14 day weight loss you can heal your metabol;ism by doing Atkins induction eating longer so all isn't lost you got to be a nard working Atkineer this time to see the fat getting shed again.

Yes ma'am 2big, most definitely, you have to get off your behind whether this is your first time or not, exercise is not negotiable, unfortunately. If you've been yoyo dieting, no matter what diet, you're going to have more trouble the more you've yoyo'd. What a perfect time to tune up your body with some exercise and get it used to burning that fat even FASTER!

Yep. The more you yo yo diet, the harder it gets to lose. Then there's the slowing down of metabolism as you get older too...

            Re: Metabolic Resistance

I might be the exception to this rule, however. I find that I gain weight and lose weight quickly. Granted, the fat cells are trained to hold onto the fat, but I've personally found that I can can get the weight off extremely easily again. I don't think metabolic resistance applies to everyone.

As an example, the first time I did induction. I lost 12 pounds in 14 days. The last time I did induction, I lost 21 pounds in 2 weeks. This time I'm doing induction and I've lost 15 pounds in 3 days already.

I don't want people to not try because they're afraid of not losing weight this time around. I'm proof that if you want something and are willing to work for it, you can get it.

In the end, it is better to take weight off and keep it off.

            But don't stop trying!

Wow! You do Induction the same way every time to lose so much more each try? Or do you end up eating a little less and getting better results? This just floors me that you do better and better each time! Yeah!!
