    Well done , Betty
Atkins didn't say 'Calories don't count',
    he said, 'Don't count calories.'

{{{{{{{{{{Betty}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}} You just made my week. What a way to start off a Monday morning. I'm so proud of you. I've started couch to 5K and I'm all the way up to 6 minutes running out of 20 (and not consecutively either). Yup it's gonna be slow. But you are my hero and I always think of you as I trudge along. lol I'm glad you didn't blow away in the high winds.

Re: 26.2 Miles and Lived to Tell it!

                THANK YOU, EVERYONE!!

The day after: my legs are feeling good .. the hips are a little sore, but not as bad as I thought they would be. Taking it slow today .. did a 2.5 mile walk just to loosen things up a little. My toes are still swollen, but that's to be expected after pounding the pavement for 5+ hours.

Other than that though, I feel GREAT!

I got my breakdown of pace in yesterday's marathon:

                5 miles - 1 hour 9 minutes
                13.1 miles - 2 hours 45 minutes
                20 miles - 4 hours 30 minutes
                26.2 miles (into a 40 mph headwind the last 6.2 ) - 5 hours 25 minutes

Overall, I'm very happy just to say those 3 words: I FINISHED IT.

                Betty

And you got a cool medal-thing. Do you have these hanging on a wall somewhere in your house?

I am so very very very happy and proud for you. I am sitting down tonight with my hubby and committing to a full 26.2 in honor of you. I am also going to look up information for that race we talked about. I will email any info I collect locally with pics!! Now that would be a beautiful run!!!--You continue to inspire. Even when I am feeling a bit "shy" I have to crawl out to congratulate my amazing friend.--Adore you Miss Betty!!--And I am uber jealous of that medal, it is like twice the size of mine.--hmm I guess that makes sense, what with twice the miles and all

                                AMAZING !!! Congrats to you...

I used to run with my Dad when I was much younger and thinner. He has always been a runner and with a little weight on him he calls himself a "cargo hauler"--- You my friend are what we called "greyhounds"-- sleek running machines, built for the long haul...

                                Way to go !!!
