  • fish eggs?

Does anybody know the carb level of fish eggs? I have an online friend that i introduced to atkins and the country she lives in has some different foods that we do. She asked me if eating fish eggs was ok! I have no idea. Who can help me with this dilemma?

      Re: fish eggs?

I think it depends on the fish (salmon eggs, harring eggs, caviar)
here the nutrition fact from USDA
roughly fish eggs seem to count 4/5 carb for 100gr (watch the sodium though, pretty high)
      hope this help

It's fish after all. I do eat it, using "caviar" from fitday.
Ofcoursa I won't ever eat 100 g of it lol.
Whisch country does she live? There may be different traditions in preparing...

She lives in Mauritus and its common to eat fish eggs there apparantly, ill have to ask her what kind of fish eggs they are.

If its codroe she is talking about - its actually really good. You fry it and here in norway they eat it with potatos (not induction friendly ).
I You know what they say - try it, you'll like it.
