  • itcing..

I'm sure I've lost quite a bit of weight over the past few weeks (haven't weighed in yet, or taken measurements), and now I get itchy where my major fat deposits once were! Could that be a result of loose skin, or am I imagining things?

BTW - I no longer have bulges ! Yay for me!

Great job on the loss. I can't say that I felt itching where I lost weight, but the skin does feel different. Before it was just fat, now I have lumpy fat under the skin.

I guess it could be our dry winter air.

I've noticed itching as well, but I've had it all over from time to time while doing this WOE. It's a different kind of itch to me than dry winter air, if that makes any sense. I cut way back on cheese and since then have noticed a big improvement. Not sure if it's related though.

I know exactly what you mean. I used to itch in places I was afraid I was putting ON weight, but now I think it's where it's being lost. It's an interesting phenomenon.

I suppose I can deal with it! small price to pay, and I'm sure it's a temporary thing.

              Re: itcing..

I've been going absolutely crazy with itching for 3 - 4 days. I am on the 14th day of Induction. It was mainly my left arm and shoulder - little red spots, and/or large red areas where I have to scratch. It then also affected my upper chest, around my belly button, middle of my back, and both legs.

I have tablets for itchiness but can only be taken once a day, and they make no difference - I am itching constantly and can't bear it. I don't know why it would be just one arm though and not the other.

Do you think it's to do with the diet? I think it would have to - I honestly can't think of any other reason???

Anyone else had this problem, and found out the cause? I honestly cannot go on like this every day - I think we all know itching can drive you crazy when it's severe.

I've noticed that itchy feeling sometimes too. It comes and goes in certain areas and yes, it does seem to be where fat is coming off.

Aussiegal, that sounds terrible, I haven't ever had redness or spots from it, just the itch which feels deep beneath your skin. Could it be you're allergic to a food you have eaten? Did you eat something new or different in the last 4 days compared to the previous 10?

                  Re: itcing..

Hi sweetgirl........ I haven't eaten anything different since I started the diet 14 days ago. I thought if itching is very common on the diet, that would explain it. Guess I will keep reading and finding out more as time goes on.

                  Thanku

I think itching can be a detox or yeast die-off symptom. It should cear up soon when your body acclimates to the new changes.

lol I'm happy to say the day I wrote my last message above, was the last day of itching!!!!! It lasted 3 - 4 days and was pretty extreme, but suddenly stopped and there's been none of it for the last 3 days - I hope it's gone for good... TOUCH WOOD! Quite unexplainable and confusing as to what caused it.

What kind of tablets are you taking? You said you're taking some for itchiness--what's in them?

The tablets I take when I have itchy skin are called Xergic 180, or Telfast 180. The box says each tablet contains 180mg of fexofenadine hydrochloride.
