    Hey there!
I just joined this forum yesterday, just wanted to say hi and mention that you guys are all so inspiring!
A little about me...im 5'6 1/2 (just got measured yesterday:P) and i think im between 150 and 160 lbs, it seems to fluctuate each day...i started induction about 4 weeks ago..i stayed on 2 weeks longer bc i went from 158 1/2 lbs to 152 1/2 lbs and i wanna go down to 120, except i seem to have a lot of resistance considering i am sooo strict all my friends are impressed i don't slip. Its frustrating though any tips?
As well, Id like to hear any stories from ya'all about slip ups...see this is where i tell you about the huge slip up i had after 4 weeks on induction..it happened over the weekend and i had a rum and coke at the bar on sat because they didnt have water there for some reason at that station, so the next day i was sooo upset with myself bc that was the second time i slipped that weekend...the fri before i had a vodka water barlime and i had asked for vodka water..nonetheless the sunday i pigged out and went and had burger king poutine, i ate donuts, had a smoothie, two chocolate bars, chips and salsa, mcdonalds..then monday and tuesday i did the same ....gorging on donuts and fast food....i feel like i gained back all the wait in those three days.....HELP...any suggestions or input who grately be appreciated, im just completely lost rite now with my lifestlye, i loved atkins and wanna continue (or go back on) , what can i do?

if you are still in ketosis is the key to what you do now if not eat induction for a few days to get your ketosis going again and then since you are having issues with the foods try moving to OWL for more variety the alcohol is an induction nono and only after you get to rung 5 of OWl can it be consumed. try waiting for it and being the Designated driver getting all your buds home from the bar safe andsound and jusy have water. if that station didn't have any ask them to get yousome from another station as you are the DD. Bars want folk getting home sober and love DDs

        happy low carbing.

          Hi Babygirl
          Welcome to our ADBB family

If you are wondering why it looks as if I have edited your post, this is because I mistakenly tried to edit out the title above your post but it obviously cant be done! sorry about that. I didnt change anything there otherwise.

As has been said by the others, just carry on with your Atkins if something happens to make you stray.

It is a good idea to leave the vodka till the 5th rung of OWL as not only will it make your body process that alcohol instead of processing your food and suspend any weightloss, but many people find that as they are now not used to its effects they will often make non-induction food choices which are hard to recover from.

Eating off-plan can make those carb cravings come back with a vengeance as you discovered.

So plan your eating and get back into the induction swing of things. Maybe get ready lots of induction-legal highfat snacks to have available if you get the munchies for the next few days.
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?

Thanks to all of you who have responded! Getting such quick feedback is such great support, i really appreciate it! I didn't know I could feel so welcomed into this community! Thanks
Thanks for the advice and info...i had no idea that the ladder in the book meant that you introduce them exactly in that order week after week, i thought u just chose with that list...and since its been all of my friends birthdays lately and so many events the temptation to indulge in alcohol is very very very very high, so i chose to add alcohol in first. Its going to be hard but I can do it -especially with all of your help.
I am new but Id love to help out where i can too

              Re: New to this site

If I remember correctly (it has been a while since I read the old version of DANDR) originally Dr Atkins didnt specify the order in which to reintroduce foods, but when he realised some people were adding things like alcohol instead of extra veggies he redesigned the OWL phase to make us choose more nutritious stuff!

not only nutritious but in a glycemic ranking so you can see how your body handles different foods based on their GI effects with the lower stuff like nuts induction veggies and dairy first and thehigher stuff like grans and other fruits last.

                HAppy low carbing.
