  • YoYoer here! Is detox the answer?

    Hi there!
Ive been a yo yo dieter for awhile especially this past year, Ive done some pretty irresponsible diets like a caffeine diet where i would suppress my appetite all day long then maybe hav fish for dinner for the essential oils....ive gone on green tea yogurt diets, ive always gotten frustrated and given up...Ive exercised extensively youd think i was training for a marathon the next day...pretty much ive never been balanced or patient so i am a guilty yo yo dieter....
SO NEWHO I slipped up on the atkins a few days ago and am going to start induction again...im wondering should i do one of those detox diets with juice or pills or vegetables or somethig before i start induction again to maybe lose some of the metabolic resistance i probably have built up?
Do most of you agree I prolly have a high metabolic resistance now? Anything I can do extra to break it?! I llove atkins but really need to get down to 120lbs and i know once im at my goal my lifestyle will be changed completely bc ive fallen in love with the atkins lifestyle and can stick to it....
THis is gettin long....id luv to hear from ya'all! Take Care <3
xox Lots of Luv from me to all you! xox

I think that anything but a good ol' fashioned start is a waste of your time. Induction - done correctly - does the "detox" for you. It not only flushes away alot of that bad stuff you have been allowing yourself but it also curbs your cravings for more of the same. Also, after 2 weeks of true induction, you would know if you were metabolically resistant. I am betting that you will see great results!

It seems you need to relax and accept that nothing is as simple as we wish it was but it isn't as complicated as we tend to make it either! You have to put day after day of clean, healthy eating together in order to see long lasting results. No way are all those pounds, cravings, habits going to just vanish overnight - no quick fixes.

Just be very proud of each step you take and allow yourself a true chance at change by following the "Dr. Atkins New Diet Revolution" book. I absolutely believe you can not suceed at this way of eating without trying to understand what is in that book.

You aren't sacrificing anything if you choose to eat this way - well, except maybe those unwanted pounds!!

    Glad to have you at

I echo cypressgirls comments - just carry on doing a clean induction and your body will respond.
I love atkins but really need to get down to 120lbs and i know once im at my goal my lifestyle will be changed completely bc ive fallen in love with the atkins lifestyle and can stick to it....
So like the nike adverts say . . . . Just do it!!
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!

i agree with the above, induction most certainly detoxes you. You stop eating the sugar and the bad carbs, it gets out of your system, the cravings go away within those 2 weeks! The first week could be hard because you are still fighting cravings..I promise you..it WILL pass, and within days you will not crave anymore! thats the best part about this diet..the cravings are gone and you dont have to keep fighting them!! Just remember this and tell yourself..dont cheat..dont cheat..you will get through the withdrawal period..and you will be amazed!! you will feel less hungry, you will no longer crave the sweets!

Re: YoYoer here! Is detox the answer?

I have tried every so-called detox diet in the book (Hollywood Diet, Protein Shakes, Fruit, etc) and I have finished nearly everyone of them with zero energy and have binged immediately after they were done if I even made it to the end of the 2-5 days.

all those things you mentioned you wantto do to detox will do is increase your resistance. finish youor induction and see based onthe charts what your resistance is. if you are metabolically resistant you can just keep doing a longer induction as your metabolism heals itself from much ofthe abuse yoou have inflicted onit.MAke sure youo are drinking all the water eating only from the aceptable foods lists doing the mandatory exercise part of your Atkins and taking the vits and mineralsyour body needs.
