Yesterday it was like a revelation ... 3 days after the marathon I thought "my gawd .. I ran 26.2 miles! ME!"
Isn't that weird .. I thought about nothing else for months .. I trained rigorously right up until the day ... and it didn't really sink in for 3 days after the fact that I actually ran that far!
Is there such a thing as being so engrossed in training that you lose sight of the real ACHIEVEMENT until much later?? How weird am I??
Dang, 26.2 MILES! I get impatient DRIVING THAT FAR, let alone spending 5+ foot-pounding hours on the pavement!!
At the risk of sounding like I'm bragging (which I am NOT) .. it just amazes me even yet! I keep looking at the medal here at work, thinking "I DID THAT?"
Maybe its sorta like when you lose alot of weight .. you look in the mirror and somehow you still see the "fatty" staring back at you .. until all of a sudden your mind embraces the achievement and you say "HOLY SCHMOKES! LOOK AT ME!"
Too funny. I AM WEIRD!
