    Re: Resisted Temptations Today

Fantastic! It can be so very hard when everyone around you is eating carby stuff... You did really well to stay strong. It does get easier as you go along though, believe me. The cravings subside and you get totally used to eating low carb. You also soon learn all the substitutions (and there are sooo many!) for high carb foods too.

It's a good policy to always be prepared, and have some kind of a legal snack on hand when you go out.

Don't you just loooove those places? Like the whole world will stop if they don't serve hashbrowns and toast...

Every 3 months, my friends and I go to a restaurant for dinner. We went to one sorta upscale place. I ordered the grilled salmon. The meal came with a baked potato, or mashed potato, or scalloped potato or some kind of non-potato starchy dish and a serving of steammed broccoli or steammed asparagus or sauteed green beans or creammed spinach. So, I asked the waiter to nix the potato and potato alternative and give me another portion of the broccoli in its place. What happens? I got I mountain of broccoli, with a small portion of mashed potatoes along side my salmon.

Every other week I order a carry out from one of my favorite dive-y places that look like dingy crumbling shacks on the outside and inside, and I ask them to omit things and they give it to me, no problem and with a smile!
