Same concept as anything with 'zero' calories. Like diet cola. Very small amounts, traces really, add up to enough to register. Think of it like you squeeze the juice from the orange, you get orange juice level calories. 'Squeeze' (brew) juice from coffee beans, you get coffe bean level calories. If you ate the beans, you would get much more because you are consuming the whole thing. Coffee just gives you what gets 'washed off'...Kinda. Get what I mean?

Also, all manufacturers pretty much round down when they can to zero. Servings sizes that they list are also often unrealistic. It all adds up!

That's .12 carbs per oz. So if you ccount 1 cup as .15 you'd be safe. So you could have 6.666 cups per day (say 7) for 1 carb.

It will really help you on this WOE if you get a fitday account. Not only does it keep track of all those 'trace carbs' (those add up quick), it keeps you honest on what you are eating. It makes me more aware of what I am eating and how much. Please, also measure everything you eat and drink. Sometimes what we think is 'just a cup' or 'just a teaspoon' can be a lot more than what is a measured amount. Every carb counts!
What would we do without it?

                  Re: coffee, coffee, coffee

I count 1 net carb per 8 oz of coffee. Measure your coffee mug. Most are more than 8 oz, if you're going for the most accurate count. By counting-you're being accountable, and also limiting yourself. It's amazing how many people drink their carbs with cups of coffee with cream or half and half, and don't realize it. Some people can be drinking up to 10 net carbs a day alone, and then wonder why their weight loss slows down. It all matters in the end. There is no fooling the body-just the mind!
