    Re: gaining?

Hmm, have you been eating out at all? I learned on this board that some places pump their steak full of sugar (a main ingredient in meat tenderizer)! I was floored, and won't eat a steak unless I buy and cook it!! Do you use Fitday? Can you post some menus for us to see what is going on. How long has this been going on. What are your stats (height start weight, current weight, goal weight), what kind of exercise do you do??
Anyway, glad to meet you and you will get lots of help on this wonderful board. Please keep us posted on how you are doing!
What would we do without it?

Weight fluctuation is totally normal. Ignore it and stay away from the scale. You can lose complete sizes and not see any movement on the scale, or even see the scale go up. I know this first hand.

Rely on your tape measure and how clothing fits for your standard. Be sure and give your body a long period of time to adjust to life in ketosis. Ideally, stay on Atkins faithfully for a good six months before coming to any final conclusions.

        Re: gaining?

Are you working out more? Sometimes the body just retains water for a variety of reason. Rebuilding muscles is one of them after exercise. Just keep evaluating what you are eating and eat the right stuff, any weight gain will just be temporary. The scale will bounce around, but the overall direction will be downward. Don't sweat it yet.

Hey............welcome to my world.Check all my posts this week.I lost 7.5lbs first week of induction and slowly gained .5lbs each day until I am currently up again 2lbs.My end of week weigh in is tomarrow, so I am hoping to loose those 2lbs and loose again starting next week.I did follow everything by the book, but was told to loose the diet pops and only drink water, so thats what I have done. Will see if it payed off tomarrow.
I'll with ya, so dont feel like your the only one experiencing it.Good luck and keep us posted.

How long have you been on Atkins?

If you've lost weight, are you still eating the same amount of food your larger body needed or have you adjusted it to the amount your smaller body needs?

Are you measuring your foods? Or have you gotten sloppy with that?

Throw your scale in the closet for a couple weeks and stay focused then check again after that.

                Re: gaining?

My cycle is like this, I gain 3 pounds then loose 5. Everyone is different. When I started, my waste was around a 38 now I am down to 33 inches. So even though weight loss can be fustraiting, the results are still noticable in other areas.

(Picture was taken at 190 lbs in August.)

I went to a butcher in Brixton once and brought chicken breasts and when I got them home I discovered they had been injected with a thick flour like substance to add extra weight to them.

Try examining the sources of your food maybe you changed a supplier recently and they are adding suger or flour to your food without you knowing...

Yes, I got some frozen chicken tenderloins in a big bag from Super Wal-Mart one time and they had been injected with the floury stuff as well. I was so sad.
No stats. Not weighing anymore ever. Will post "before and after" pictures when I want to. The end.
