  • Things you do NOT miss!!!

    So ... tell me ... what are some of the things that you do NOT miss now that you have lost weight? I know for me ... I look forward to NOT having my knees hit my belly when I walk up steps ... and I will NOT miss that annoying sound when my pants rub together when I walk and my thighs rub!!! (yeah, pretty picture, I know!!) ... What about you guys?? What don't you miss???
    THIS TIME and for the LAST TIME, I will do this!!

    Female / 36 / Ohio
    Starting Weight: 218 - 3/13/06
    CONTINUING WITH INDUCTION!
    Mini Goal: 10 pounds by April 19th! - Nails done for reward.
    GW: 135

    1 week to go until my next weigh-in.



    I WILL NOT EAT SUGAR ALCOHOL!

    I dont miss coming back from lunch and finding that i need to release my belt a notch.

    Thats one thing, but there are plenty of others.

    I have since re-gained a bit of weight, but that is soon to be coming off again!

      I dont miss that roll of backfat that drove me insane and finally made me admit I needed to do something!!

      (Modified OWL-moving up rungs for convenience when travelling, keeping carbs moderate)
      Foods I cannot have-
      Black beans.- instant headache and upset belly.
      spaghetti squash mixed with tomatoes- ravenous

                  Amongst many other things, I don't miss that constant feeling of self consciousness... I'm comfortable in my own skin and that makes all the difference! Oh and eating in public and not feeling embarrassed about eating...

                  Officially Re-Focusing on 12-28-09.

                  Was, Am, Will be: 280/222/175ish.
                  Started Dec 2005 and lost 105 lbs by mid 2006, maintained loss for the most part until 2009...then really let go & gained some back... lol

                  so:
                  Restart Progress:
                  12/28/09 ~ 235.1
                  01/04/10 ~ 229.0
                  01/11/10 ~ 229.0 Grrrrr....
                  (Induction= only 6lbs but lost 10 inches! yay)
                  01/18/10 ~ 227.4
                  01/5/10 ~ 226.8
                  02/01/10 ~ 222.6

                    Looking in the mirror and seeing myself becoming more and more my mother with her host of medical issues brought on by being sedentary and obese.

                      I don't miss the low blood sugar episodes I used to get because of improper food choices and going too long between eating. Oh man, I sure don't miss those!

                        I don't miss....
                        • too tight restaurant booths
                        • too tight movie theatre seats
                        • too tight car seatbelts
                        • having to keep buying larger and larger sized clothes
                        • being out of breath from just walking
                        • avoiding going places due to being tired and going out of breath
                        • avoiding looking at myself in the mirror
                        • being out of control with my eating
                        • worrying that I was going to keep gaining weight and wouldn't stop
                        • my 10-12 can a day diet coke habit
                        I could probably think of tons others.
                        Start date: 2/22/04 347/222/135 ~ 5'2"
                        STAC Restart: 1/05/09
                        306/229/135 ~ 5'2" 77 lbs down!

                        Goal #1: 247 - 2nd 10% (59lbs, 247, also 100 lbs total loss) - Met 1/4/10!!!
                        Goal #2: 241 - Halfway to goal! (106 lbs lost) - Met 2/21/10!!!

                        Goal #3: 222 - 3rd 10% - Lowest Atkins weight
                        Goal #4: 210 - Still on track!
                        Goal #5: 200/199 - 4th 10% - One-derland! End year goal!
                        Female/Hypothyroidism/Arthritis/Fibromyalgia - If I can lose weight on this, so can you!

                          I don't miss Coca-Cola, the Scottish equivalent, Irn-Bru or any sugary drinks.
                          I used to be totally addicted and would have a can of coke for breakfast! (along with chocolate) but now I find I can't drink them, they taste like molten sugar!
                          I'm thankful that my tastes are changing.

                            Oh and I don't miss the depair and panic in my sould when I realise that my size 40 waisted trousers are too tight and that I'm gonna have to go for a 42 which would be almost impossible to find!

                            This was the clincher for me that made me get started.
                            Now, I'm a 36/38, looking forward to being a definite 36!

                              Same here President holmes, when I had to buy a pair of 44inch trousers that was what made me stop and think.
