  • Question??

    Hey all,

I know that i am supposed to cut all my carbs out but i keep seeing no carb/low carb. Is there a goal of carbs to be at. Like should i just have 6 carbs a day to still lose the weight, or just stick to 0 carbs until i reach my goal weight. My current weight is 177 and my goal is 135. I just started today and had no carbs. I downloaded this carb counter for excel and it has columns for carbohydrates, so that is why i am wondering about low carbs and what should they be?

    thanks for your help!

    Re: Question??

Oh my!!! You need to get the book!!! You are allowed 20 net carbs per day from the allowed food list!! What did you eat today??? How did you get no carbs in?? You must have 3 cups veggies, limit your cheese intake (3-4 oz only), limit sweetner to 3 servings and drink lots of water. There is much more to this way of life!! Please read the stickys and get the book. I am sure there will be many more answers to your questions, people who really know there stuff (2big, moochie, ellizellen, etc...). Please, read the stickys!!!
What would we do without it?

      Re: Question??

For your first 2 weeks, you should eat no more than 20 carbs. Look around the forum and read the stickies. All foods have some carbs, in my experience. The difference is in the good carbs and the bad carbs. Just one opinion. Someone else will be here with more info, I'm sure.

        Re: Question??

And even the 20 carbs is after you subtract the fiber from the total. You definitely have to get the book...but you can keep on by redaing the stickies posted around here until you get it in your hands.

Stay away from those weird low carb products because they aren't exactly what they seem. You can read a good bit on those around here too. Stick with whole foods and read the book. You'll be rockin' in no time!

          Re: Question??

Like everyone else has said, please read the book. Eating no carb is definitely NOT doing the diet as prescribed. The good doc wanted you to eat a healthy number of non-starchy vegetables per day, and not eating them can lead to all sorts of bad stuff, worse of it all not losing weight. At very minimum, read the Induction the chapter and memorize the Induction rules and Acceptable Foods List. You and your weight loss experience will be much better for it.
