  • Cream

I was wondering if cream had any carbs. It says 0 on the pint but I did some math and even though they round (it comes to 45 cals if you add together the grams of fat, rounds to 50 cals) their is still room for 1 carb (1 carb=4 cals, so it would be 49 which still rounds to 50 cals). It says in the book that it has 1 carb per tbsp and I have been adding in these but what is the point of using those 2 carbs when I have my sugar free jello when I dont have to.

    Thanks
I have started induction again only to gain 2 pounds

    But then I lost 5

    Re: Cream

Cream is one of those special category foods that we can have and yes, it does have a carb count. Because of labelling laws in different parts of the world nutrition counts on labels can be different. So, it's up to you if you decide to use heavy cream. With the sugar free jello, the artificial sweetener would have a carb count to and it, as well, is limited to three servings per day.

            Re: Cream

Yes, very high in calories and easy to add them up a cup of coffee here a bit of jello there half a cup of the stuff adds up to like 800 calories or something like that BRUTAL and calories do matter especially when you get closer to goal or are stalled I found that one out.

LOL, are we talk about calories again.
Popawa, those two have been on this diet a long time and there is a point on Atkins when you might have to start worring about calories, but if your new and just starting out, don't worry about it. If your on induction you can have a limited amount of cream, and like Analog I count 1 carb for 2 Tablespoons. Since its limited, I only use it in my coffee also and when I get to the berry rung, well I use cream on them also.

                Re: Cream

Me too. I limit my decaffs to about 3-4 a day, and I find usually 1 tablespoon of cream is enough in a cup (not in a mug). I rinse the cream off with the hotwater and so get it all. When I have berries I whisk up a few tablespoons (measure carefully) with a hand beater and it fluffs up beautifully. Berries with cream are a limited treat confined to once or twice at most a week.

                  Re: Cream

The sweetners in jello do not have a carb count because their is no detrose or
maltodextrin, which is the only reason the packets have any carbs at all.

                    Re: Cream

Yeah, but Dr Atkins said to avoid aspertain and most jellos are made with it. His reasoning is valid as many folks have problems with it. He would perfer that you use only splenda.

I wish they made splenda sugar free jello

But I dont have that much of a problem, infact I think (this may sound crazy) it speeds up my weightloss. Varouse reasons why I came to that conclusion but it seems to speed it up.

you can make your own Splenda jello. we have recipes in the database. use the rearch feature and you can find them. one uses the splenda soda's as the liquid others use Splenda powder or liquid or the DAVINCI syrups
