  • Need help rededicating myself!!!!

    I had some wedding cake at my stepsons wedding a week ago. I has caused me to spiral down a slippery slope. I am eating Atkins meals, but I keep cheating with sugar desserts. Please remind me of why I need to not cheat. I am ready to cry, because I have worked so hard to get where I am and I have put on 4 pounds in the last week. I am feeling sick every time, yet I keep doing it. If I am cheat free, how many days will it take to get rid of the sugar cravings?

    Honey, you can do it!! Make up your mind, drink water like a fish and SLAY THE SUGAR DEMON BY STARVATION!

      I still hate to admit this but in the spirit of paying it forward, I'm going to share!

      Go to this link and read #95 about 1/2 way down the page. It happens to every one some time or another - you aren't alone!

      You just have to think more of yourself than you do of some dessert that lasts about 60 seconds in your mouth and 3 years on your body!

        Oh and another thing .. NONE OF US ARE EVER CURED .. we are all reformed carboholics, so don't beat yourself up. Instead, focus on your commitment and renew it DAILY!

          Thank you so much Betty and Jennifer. I still feel very icky tonight. I made pork steak and asparagus for dinner. That helped settle my stomach a bit. It was popcorn at the theater today that made me so sick. I'm going shopping tomorrow so that I have some great healthy choices for the week. I think I will buy alot of steaks as a treat for rededicating.

            Theater popcorn made me sick even before Atkins. The first handful is awesome so you keep eating...Lord, I always wished I would have stopped there!

              How are you feeling this morning? Better, I hope. You can do this! I promise, if I can do this anybody can. I was a weak, sugar addicted mess before I found ADBB and read DANDR (at the advice of this board) and it gave me a grip on my addiction. Betty is so right, we are never cured. Never give up the fight! You are worth it! Please keep us updated on how you are doing.
              What would we do without it?

                I had a good day. I have been eating really often because I'm hungrier than normal. I'm hoping that I am back into ketosis in a couple more days. I am sticking to induction foods right now. I bought alot of groceries today so that I have options available. Thank you for checking on me. I need the accountability right now.

                    Thanks Betty. It really helps to have my online family to be accountable to. I know I will be much better soon. I already can feel my confidence and will power returning.

                    P.S. I bought a jogging stroller. You have inspired me. I am waiting for warmer weather and then I'm starting. It is still in the 30's here and that is just too cold for me. It is supposed to be in the 40's by the end of the week. This week I'm going to start running!
