  • How long did it take you to lose the Last 20???

    Well I am officially under 20 pounds to my goal I was wondering how long this should take I am banking on it taking 1 year is that way over or just about right??? If it happens faster that would be cool but my goal is a year from now. How long did it take you to lose your last 20 just curious.

    I didn't have that much to lose (i only lost 26 lbs total), but I can tell you it took me about 6 months to lose the last 10 lbs. It was worth the wait, but you really do need to be patient.

    One thing i found was moving up the rungs seemed to break a stall for me.

      I am ON OWL the weight loss is slow but, I am still losing about 4 pounds or less a month which is good I think but some months I lose nothing. I am Patient I will take as long as I need to get it off this is a life for me now and I am letting my body do it's thing.

        remember everybody burns different amounts of fuel and is growing or not growing more lean tissues to so the scale weight numbers can reall throw you off looking for goal. I was 20 pounds above what my official goal weight should have been in May of 03, had a massive 13 week stall with the thyroid meds out of wack and was at propper goal weight in Dec of 03 but didn't know it and worked down to 168 in May of 04 but I had two knee surgeries in 04 that slowed the exercise opart of my Atkins way down.

        Sarah remember you just had your thyroid meds lowered too so your metabolism is going to slow a bit as it adjusts to the new lower dose.

          Ya I know it'll slow that's ok I am expecting it to take a year I will reevalute lots and get my BF taken lots to see where I am at if I feel good at a higher weight I'll stop as for now all the weight is concentrated in my legs SLOW GOING HE HE.

          I am not worried about the time frame I was just curious how long it took others to lose the last 20

            Silly or not? What determines the last 5, 10, 20lbs? Is it what we want to weigh or what we medically should weigh? Either or, how does the body know when we are getting to the home stretch and starts to loose slow. Things that make you

              Well if I went by what I medically should weight I would NEVER NEVER get there it says I should be like 130 LBS HA HA HA too funny will never get there I am 129LBS of LBM. ANd those little measurements and such at the doctors office a farce if you even do any kind of exercise. SO I am going by how I feel what I know and Hopefully I will get there.

                Hey Iya......i too have the same problem with the weight on the legs, happened after I had kids and its always the last place to loose, and even then is always chubby, but I was told by a doctor that b-12 shots injected into those areas, breaks up the fat so you will loose more in that area.Something to think about, but it did work for me.Good luck.

                    actually those numbers are not medicaly where you should weigh unless you don't have every much muscle mass. a medically healthy weight is based on your build and uses body fat % to decidewhat your weight should be not height weight chart nor a BMI if you are muecular as it willsay in print on any accurate BMI calculator. Several very lean muscluar NBA players were obese when the BMI was released so they retracted it and added the muscular disclaimer.

                    Use a body fat measuring device either the pincers or the dunk tank and see how much of your body weight is actually lean tissue then use thehealthy for a female ranges 15-25% body fat to see where your scale range is. if you got 130 pounds of lean tissue then your goal weight is 152- 173 pounds. You can pick where ever in that range you want to be for looks.
