  • My roll of fat

    I just recently re-started Atkins, but I have been extremely active in dance and other workouts for about 5 months. I went down one size and I can tell I've lost a lot of fat in my upper body. My current pants are nice and loose on my thighs and lower butt now, but I have quite a roll just under my belly button that's keeping me from going down to the next smaller size of pants. I've never lost weight in my thighs before my tummy so this is strange. Usually my fat loss starts at the top and works it's way down to the tummy, then the thighs. My abs get plenty of work. And to make it worse the more my other body parts shrink the more prominent this roll looks. In case anyone asks, this is definitely a fat roll and not a baby in there!

    Wow! I have that same problem! That roll around the middle! Whenever I had lost weight in the past I always lost in my stomach first and butt and thighs last but not this time! So I have saggy pants with that "thang" that hangs over my wasteband! Yucchhh!!

      The only way I know to get rid of it is to keep exercising and stay on Atkins.

        I agree with John. My formerly rolly-polly tummy was by far my worst and most despised problem area until I just stayed with Atkins and subsequently lost the fat. Then it looked nice! (Ab work and cardio certainly help enhance the results, of course.)

            Ugh! I know ALL about that roll!!! I can see I'm making progress elsewhere on my body and in the short time I've been on too! But, this "roll below the belly-button" ... what a nightmare!! I would feel SO much better if I felt like my belly was going somewhere. lol

            Just stick with it - as I am with ya too! - and, we'll lose that roll! I can't WAIT to go back to Pennsylvania in May and show my big-mouth brother that my "roll" has shrunk! lol

              Weeeeelll, my roll was feeling a little smaller and squishier this morning so I tried on the jeans that have been patiently waiting for me. I got them on and except for the roll area they are really comfy!!! So I tried on my tummy and butt squishing Flexees underwear and that did the trick! I'm so excited.
