  • 30 Pounds in 7 Weeks

    OK, this is what I want. I want to lose 30 Pounds (probably will lose less) in 7 weeks. I have made an ultimatum like that, because after 7 weeks I'm going to go abroad and I need to feel good. If I look good - I feel good.
    So, I really need somebody's help. This is all I'm going to do. Also there are things that could trouble me.

    Today I'm starting the first phase (again) and I'm going to:

    -
    Eat ONLY allowed foods (pork and other meat; eggs; butter; fish; sour cream; liver and smoked sausages; vegetables)
    -Drink about 2 - 2,5 litres of water per day
    -Go to gym 1 - 2 times per week
    -Run about 30 - 45 min about three times per week
    -Do stomach exercises every day
    -Don't use alcohol in the induction

    These are things that could trouble me and I need somebody to help me with them (can I and how much etc.):

    -Cheese (I still haven't understood how much can I)
    -Pills and liquids (I use "Memoria", it says that there are Hypericum D1 15 ml; Ginkgo D6 10 ml; Conium D6 10 ml; Ginseng D6 10 ml; Arnica D12 10 ml and ethanol in it. Could it stop or trouble my weight loss? I really need to understand that. And, I'm using "Nootropil"
    -Gum (sugarfree) one packet per day
    -Coffee (with caffeine, because didn't find without) 600 - 700 gramme per week
    -Sour cream with 15 % fat (how much can I?)
    -Mouthwash (don't swallow, of course)
    -Alcohol (after induction, how much can I and what kind of?)
    -I smoke

    This would be a normal day of mine (induction):

    -2 litres of water
    -3 eggs
    -Three cups of vegetables (radish, cucumbers, celery etc.)
    -300 gramme of pork
    -50 gramme of sour cream
    -150 gramme of fish (hake etc.)

    I don't know for how long I'm going to stay at the first phase, probably only 14 days and then to OWL (will use about 25 or 30 gramme of carbs). I really really need advices, experience, suggestions. Please, help?

    One packet of gum a day? There is about one carb per piece (even if it says zero because of the artifical sweetners) so if your pack has 12 pieces you are taking in 12 carbs JUST for gum. Sour Cream isn't allowed on induction. You can only have 3 ounces of cheese spread out per day. The caffine in the coffee could stall you. Alcohol details are listed in the book. I don't know much about that because I drink maybe 3 times a year. On your set plan I think 30 pounds is a bit ambitious and you will be disappointed. Maybe some others have some more advice.       I agree with Ms Blue. If you set goals that are unrealistic, you might be setting yourself up to fail. Why not just concentrate on being HEALTHY, and the weight will come off when its supposed to. Coffee is bad, because caffeine can cause blood sugar spikes that can cause you to crave and/or eat foods off the list. I would also dump the gum, you won't need it and you need to 'kill' your sweet tooth. Do you have Dr. Atkins book? If not, please get it and read it. This is NOT a diet, it is a way of life. Its not just a quick fix for before you go on your trip. I hope you decide to make this your WOL. I am glad you found ADBB, you will get the answers to your questions here, they will be the truth, but maybe not always what we want to hear.

        I agree with the the previous advice that has been given.Rushing to meet the demands of one event doesn't usually work.Especially if once you get to that event you go back to previous eating habits.

          You could always go running for 16 hours a day...If you dont die you'll probably lose 30lbs...

          Or you could chop a couple of limbs off..that'll get the weight off...

          OR try remembering its all about you and your health, not crash dieting.

              15 Kg is 33 pounds

              The goal seems like a hard one to reach in 7 weeks, but if it's 30 pounds you want to lose, you can set the goal at 30. Realize though, that any lost is fantastic. If you don't hit the goal posts, it's not the end all, be all. If you do lose that 30 in 7 weeks, celebrate!!

              I'd skip the gum. I'd rather spend my carbs elsewhere

              Coffee is a tough one. I drink it and have no problems while it really causes others to struggle. Coffee is a very personal choice. Even though I drink it now, I know that I may have to eventually cut it out.

              Sour cream... skip it. What are you using it for? Maybe there's a legal substitution??

              Good luck and no matter how much you lose in 7 weeks, the real goal is to do what you can to feel better about yourself.

                It's been 7 weeks for me and I've lost 17 lbs and I've exercised for 2 miles basically every day since I've started. I think to do 30 lbs in that amount of time is a tad bit unrealistic. Review the other poster's stats/journals and see how difficult your immediate goal might be for you.

                  Another thing to consider is that the amount you can lose in any given time is determined partly by how much in total you have to lose.

                  The closer you are to your ultimate goal; the less (and slower) you should lose, as this is a program for life, not a "quick fix".

                        They are very good indeed, I use them to make my memory better. I usually have headaches and different problems like that, so, pills really make my life better. And, they go pretty well with the diet.

                          Why don't you try to lose the weight without the pills?? I have lost 20 pounds, and I haven't taken any 'diet' pills, only vitamins.
                          What would we do without it?

                            They are not diet pills. I'm sick, my head hurts all the day long. I take two tablets per day, then I feel a bit better. I don't know how much it affects my weight loss. If I want to feel good and without any pain - I need to take five tablets, but I'm not sure can I.

                              Well, I am glad they make you feel better. I thought maybe they were like Trimspa, and I think those are a waste of money. My friend bought them, and they made her so sick and gave her terrible headaches.
                              What would we do without it?
