  • How are you avoiding the sweets this time of year?

I for one, am not giving my kids baskets full of candy for Easter. My oldest daughter needed a new bike so I decided to give it to her for Easter instead of candy. My second daughter is getting a basketball hoop and so is my two year old.(One his size) We will not gain weight this Easter and hopefully my kids will be active all summer.

I will have no candy in my house
We will have lots of colored eggs (Deviled eggs...Yummmy)
We will make a wonderful low carb Easter dinner

    What are you doing?

That sounds great! Good for you! Unfortunately, I am alone in my resistance here. I will ignore the sugared goodies and opt for the low carb snacks no matter how tempted I am. I think I mastered my self control this time around.

As long as I have a package of microwavable roast beef and my daily cup of postum with a packet of splenda, I'm good I've trained myself not to eat when I'm not hungry. I wish the other people in my family would stop hurting themselves though. They really do eat too much sweets every easter.

I will look those stupid peeps and chocolate bunnies in their beedy little eyes, give them 2 middle fingers up and throw them across the room if they try to mess with me.

Donkey, I want you to come grocery shopping with me! lol

I dont even go INTO drug stores (ie, Walgreens) which seem to have candy all OVER this time of year. At the grocery store itself, Im fairly immune. I dont even pay attention. (and yes, that was me in aisle 10 that started to drool when passing the marshmallow fluff)

I tried to stick to a different diet plan awhile back as a Walgreen manager. I was around that candy 12hrs a day 6 days a week. **** I had to setup the candy aisles.

mee too Donkey..... with that attitude, we would do good in the store. I did breakdown and I had one chocolate robins egg. It was very small and probably had about 6 carbs, I know it was bad bad bad. But you wanna know whats funny, the dang thing tasted icky. It wasnt even good, and not even worth 1 gram of carbs!! My husband brought me home the beloved peeps... Pink Peeps to boot! I put them in the back of the cabinet and by the time i remember which one, they will be bad. He will think I ate them, lol
