  • BMR? question

    I have read several things about a BMR and an AMR? What are these and where can I go to learn about them? I have looked around the board to find out but I couldn't find it. Sorry if you already covered this! Thank you for the help.

    BMR or Basal Metabolic Rate is the amount of energy your body needs to minimally function or live (for example if you were in a coma, the energy your body is using to keep your heart pumping, brain functioning, maintaining your body heat, etc. is the BMR).

    AMR or Active Metabolic Rate is the amount of energy your body needs to sustain activity above your BMR. That can vary day to day.
