  • Question about soy and Whey Protein

Just a question have any of you Used Whey Protein to make Pancakes?? I use the Soy Protein but, I would like to Use whey instead cause I have been reading a lot and came accross article after article that says you shouldn't consume soy Protein when you have Hypothyroidism. Since I am concerned and I don't wanna have my Metabolism slow down any more then what it already is I was wanting to Make Pancakes which I make right now from Soy Protin. I make a bunch of them and use them for Sandwiches and such for Quickie snacks and stuff so I would like to make them still but without the Soy make sence at all LOL.

Re: Question about soy and Whey Protein

You can more or less interchange soy and whey protein isolate.

Soy is evil on several levels. Do you know that the American Academy of Pediatrics says that there is no medical reason to use soy-based baby formulas? And that's because soy allergy is in the 6 most common food allergies for children. So they only recommend soy-based formula if there is a dietary preference (parents are vegetarians).

Ooooh yah, I am very much looking forward to that post too !
Have to find me that whey isolate too, I make 'pancakes' with a mix of flax and psyllium now, it works too, but it's not really pancake-y if you get what I mean.

Re: Question about soy and Whey Protein

one thing about whey protein is whey has casin in it and that is what is used to make glue so some recipes your stuff will comeout like glue if you sub whey for soy but baked goods come out the same. Whey is a bit more rubbery.

Sarah if you can get your hands on some wheat protein isolate that will sub out in baked goods well and will give you great flavor too.
