Yikes! There were some pannies in a bunch here, I dare say! Can we all hold hands and sing Kumbaya now? I've been doing atkins on and off for about 5 years, maybe more. I just wanted to say that I think your question was a good one, and this is the place to ask it.
You got good advice that your nutition is suffering to do this daily. But, the thing is, if we're going to make a lifestyle out of low-carb eating, and have it work for the rest of our lives, then you can't trow a book at someone and say my way or the highway. Atkins allows you to adapt your intake of carbs as you choose.
Then, once someone sees the pounds coming off, that turns into more incentive to kick the habbits that cause us to platuea, in turn making this lifestyle a better and better one. I think its more helpful to encourage each other to drop the nasty habbits than ask why they're here if they haven't figured out the diet yet.
Hope you don't mind me adding my 2 cents. I've learned the hard way (before atkins was cool) what things did and didn't work, and I really wish there was a board like this when I first started to answer my questions...it is an amazingly helpful place.

in fact I am going to make it a goal in life to drink more wine and perhaps start earlier in the day...whoops sorry I am hijaking ...that was not the point it was ketosis and wine..well good if you can drink wine every day and loose weight and are on the rung ..what on earth was the question or did I answer it????

Oh suddenly having flashbacks of my first (and only) run-in with baby duck when i was young and foolishSounds a bit like Baby Duck (yes - that's the name of a quality wine, uh huh). Not that I ever drank it, of course.
There's also a wine here (i believe an import from Australia) called Cat's Pee on a Gooseberry bush.
