      Re: Sick of eggs.........

I'm boring and like my hard boiled egg an piece of cheese for breakfast, but on weekends when I have a bit more time I like to make the flaxcakes recipe. When I was on induction I'd add a bit of canned pumpkin and cinnamon. Now on OWL I'll throw in some blueberries. I'll often have smoked salmon and cream cheese or even cream of cauliflower soup, both induction friendly.

I guess you have to 'think outside the box'. We are so programmed to think eggs for breakfast. Eat whatever you like according to your level of Atkins!

You can have whatever you like for breakfast - chili, portabello mushroom pizza, leftovers from dinner.

I love leftovers from dinner for breakfast. I try to eat veggies in the morning if I can, I really think eating veggies at every meal helps keep my blood sugar even. I love whooshie pie with asparagus, its what I had this morning. Yummy!!

My most often eaten breakfast is a chicken fajita taco salad or sausage stir-fry with onions and peppers. Routine breakfast foods just don't do it for me anymore.

Lately I have been having a flax cheese bun (1/4 of the microwaved flax bread recipe layered in a small container with 1/2 ounce of grated strong cheddar cheese) and 1/4 cup of cherry tomatoes.
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?

Please read all the stickys at the top of the induction forum.

During induction I felt sick of eggs, but I just kept going. Ketosis altered my palate and now I adore eggs. I eat them every day and never tire of them. Of course I alter cooking methods. boiled, scrambled, quiche, casseroles, omelets, etc. etc. etc. And the marvelous mock danish.

                        Some great recipes here:

Be sure to try the mock danish.

                          Re: Sick of eggs.........

My favourite breakfast nowadays that is induction friendly is a bowl of broccoli. I buy big bags of the frozen stuff, pop it in a bowl in the microwave for 3 minutes, and by the time I'm done getting my bag together or my makeup on it's ready. Add some melted cheese (as long as it's in your 3-4 ounces) and you get a great source of fiber, protein, and fat to get your morning started and you're already down your one cup of veggies. Plus it's delicious!
