I was in the health food store today and the employee told me that the porta john companies find Centrum still whole when they empty toilets.

I have been feeling run down lately and wonder if this is why. I switched to Centrum last month when it was on sale.

I bought another kind of vitamins but haven't used them yet, called Natures Made. Are they good? The woman told me to take food based suppletments because they break down fast in the stomach. How would I know if Natures Made are food based? I couldn't remember the name of the new supplements I have at home or I would have asked her.

    Re: Supplements

I'm not familiar with Nature's Made but that sounds just like like sale banter and does not seem too based in reality. I wouldn't worry about it. Take a multi-vitamin without iron and add other suppliments as necessary; don't worry too much about the brand.

      Re: Supplements

I've heard from some that they take all their supplements ground up, so they can be better absorbed. It's not very tasty, though, and I find the clearance table at the GNC can let me stock up on a variety of supplements, that I alternate choices of when I fill my weekly pill containers. Seems to work well, and I use high potency b's and antioxidants. Extra minerals & some herbs, too. The Centrum story sounds dubious to me, but I've heard that about calcium tabs.

(Ask that guy what kind of person would EVER examine the contents of a PORTA JOHN!!!

LMAO I don't think they examine it as much as just dumping it and notice that vitamins are all over the bottom of the container. I don't think they actually could tell what type of vitamin it is, or at least I hope not. They would be too close of an examination!! I really think it is a line of bull. I am not feeling well since taking the Centrum though, so I am going to try other brands and see if I feel more energized.

Personally, for me, Though regular doses of some high-potency and/or obscure (not in the normal diet) supplements serve as an insurance policy for meeting my body's needs, I think choosing as varied a menu of natural foods is the best way to assure your body gets what it needs. I even gnaw the ends of some bones (cartilage & bone/joint support), eat bones in canned fish (calcium & other minerals), and tail shells off of shrimp (chitin/chitosan). Your alternative would be to eat supplements made from these same things. Yes, you can even find spinach, dandelion & clover in capsules. I'll take them in my salad thank you.
