It's been 3 years ago today (thanks to those for reminding me; I'm a mom and a college student with no time to remember to do much past brushing my teeth) that I stumbled across this thing called the world wide web in search of folks who were going through the same process of losing weight through this new "diet" called Atkins.
Along the way I found some really great advise, and wonderful people, that helped me understand more and more about low carbing and how to make losing weight successful. It was from this board that I got my inital understanding about Atkins.
Oh, and I was corrected by a certain gal who has been the partiarch of this board that this "diet" is indeed not a diet, but a way of eating for life.
Yep, I've had my moments of whacked out craziness, but dealing with personal issues in the outside world and not thinking I could take one more down hills slope can do that to a person. I've gained, lost, gained, lost, the viscious cycle of losing weight and giving in. But I'm on the final trip...this is it. I'm here, and I'm armed
My journey has been successful, trying, but successful. There is no other way of eating that is as healthy and forthright of how the body digest foods.
Why do I come to this board. Simple. There's real people here. Real life human beings giving their attention to minor and major details of lives that happen. Inspiration flows through out each post. Laughter fills my mind everytime I think of you when I'm out here in the real world. Yep, some may classify it as addiction. lol. It's just life.
As I said, I'm a full-time mom, on a tight budget, with a normal wild life, and a full-time college student itching to get that AA in Education so when I grow up I can be a teacher someday. If I can survive and work Atkins into this crazy life, anyone can do it.
And for that, I thank this board for each and every one of you. From the troopers that were here from Day 1 to today....I thank you for your honesty, inspiration, kick in the britches, and compassion.
Thanks for all that you do!
In hope and care,
To you and yours
~Lisa
