  • Long Time Atkins - but need a boost

    Hi Everyone,

I'm newish to the board. I joined a while ago, but haven't posted. I'm not at all new to Atkins. In my 4th year. I lost 100 lbs and kept it off for 3 years. However, in the last six months I've crept back 10 - 15 lbs. While not horrible - I never want to go back to where I was.

It's not that I've stopped - it's just that I wasn't as rigorous and eventually got sloppy. So today, I'm going to throw myself back into induction! Any thoughts / help?

Also, I keep reading that induction makes you mentally foggy. Since I've been in OWL so long, I'm not sure I remember, but I think that's right. Has anyone seen anything definative on this?

I've been reading posts left and right. This is a great forum.

My advice is reacquaint yourself on the why and how you want to lose weight. By your own admission it has been awhile since you had to do Induction, so it never huts to reread the Induction chapter. The former however is probably the more important. It is rediscovering what being thin means to you in more concrete terms. As for a mental fog, it depends on the person. Some it affects more than others. Just drink your water and exercise if possible. If you do get Induction flu symptoms, just chock it up for regaining your eating control.

Y'know - reacquainting myself with the benefits of my goal is a great idea! It's been too easy over these last 4 or 5 "easy" months to celelbrate the work I'd done. However, it's been uneasy and unfocused. I like it! Thanks!
