  • Atkins Breakfast Bars - Oatmeal? Yelch!

I'm a huge fan of Atkins products in general. I like the shakes. Tolerate the cocunut meal replacement bars and love the breakfast chocolate chip bars. I like the supplments as well.

So, with glee, I bought the new oatmeal raisin bars. If I could magical put 3 or 4 foods on the Atkins Acceptable List - Oatmeal would be one of them. But these taste ...frankly .... weird. I couldn't finish a whole bar. Your tongue is assaulted by some strange, chemical approximation of Oatmeal & frosting. It didn't tast so much like food as a Dow Chemical Experiment gone wrong.

Has anyone else tried them but developed a taste for'em?

Lookin at the nutrition info they seem to have 'lost' some carbs too - total carbs 15 g, inc fiber 5 g and sugar 3 g - so where do the other 7 g of carbs come from???

They would only be suitable for Owl grains rung, premaintenance and maintenance too judging from the ingredients
INGREDIENTS:Soy Nuggets (Soy Protein Isolate, Calcium Carbonate, Oat Fiber), Glycerin, Toasted Oats (Rolled Oats, Polydextrose, Sunflower Oil), Raisins, Polydextrose, Hydrolyzed Collagen, Sunflower Oil, Palm Kernel And Palm Oil, Milk Protein Isolate, Whey Protein Isolate, Natural And Artificial Flavors, Dicalcium Phosphate, Cellulose, Soy Lecithin, Calcium Carbonate, Salt, Caramel Color, Sucralose, Acesulfame Potassium. Vitamin Blend: Vitamin A Palmitate, Vitamin C (Ascorbic Acid), Vitamin B3 (Niacinamide), Vitamin B2 (Riboflavin), Vitamin B1 (Thiamine Mononitrate), Folic Acid, Vitamin E (Dl Alpha Tocopheryl Acetate).
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?

I've had some resrevations about their product revamps since the bankruptcy. The extra carbs probably come from glycerine, which they count as a carb w/o impact.
