    So I am on day 8, I feel like crap. I bought the ketone strips and I am moderate. I have been feeling like this for 4 days now. I get bursts of energy here and there but then I get exhausted. Right now I feel like crap. I have not lost a pound!!!! I feel like giving up because I don't know how much more of this I can take.

    Hey there. I don't know how much weight you have to lose, but hang in there. You may be experiencing the 'flu like' symptoms that you can get when you change your food intake. Make sure that you're getting the 20g carbs per day. Eat your veggies and make snack baggies for quick eating. I've lost the weight 2 times before after having my kids. This is my 3rd and final time to to this. I find it's easiest to purchase a block of cheese and pre-cook some hamburgers or bacon or prescramble some eggs. If I'm hungry or just need a quick snack, I grab a baggie of cheese or eat a burger or bacon. I just got out of the flu like stage. If you're anything like me, pretty soon you'll be getting a huge burst of energy. Also, it might help if you're doing diet sodas to remove them from your diet and just do water for now. I find, for me, it's best to steer clear of the diet drinks...otherwise I feel even more tired.

      A couple of things that helped me....

      1. Drink lots more water than you are currently. I know, I know...you're drinking a lot. Drink more.

      2. While caffeine is verbotten by the good Dr. - I added a cup of coffee in the morning and a weak tea in the afternoon.

      3. Watch your carb count. Sometimes, if you're a little high (25 grams, 30grams) and don't know it - you keep "reinfecting" yourself with the Atkins flu. Be vigilent in your carb counting. Cut back a bit. That works for me. However, if you're near zero ...add some. Try to hit 20 grams as best you can.

      4. Take a B multivitamin. I've read studies that say that one downside of the Atkins diet is that most of our B vitamins come from grains. Grabe a B multivite (nature made makes a good one w/C) and swallow it at lunch time WITH FOOD. This helps a lot.

        nurture yourself through the withdrawls and eat.
        herb tea is very helpful.
        know that these changes are good.
        If you give up where will you go?
        what will you do?
        Don't weigh until the 14th day.

        The glory of this wol is you can eat eat eat. My saving grace was high fat. I ate deviled eggs, stuffed mushrooms, steak dipped in butter, mock twice baked potatoes with cauliflower, etc.....

        It is truly amazing when you can eat yourself thin......
