Unfortunately, I missed this weeks show. I have enjoyed watching previous ones though. Look forward to hearing comments on what went on last night.
PS) I love the way you keep changing outfits in your signature. You keep getting skimpier and skimpier. Long dress to short outfit, to bikini top. Next comes the full bikini. LOL! Way to go, you look great!
I saw it for a minute while I was at work the other day. It was kind of cheesy and had way too high of a sort of absurd scare factor for me. The one kid of the family was underweight--but they still morphed him into being some nerd with giant, black antisocial glasses (and that hits a little close to home, thank you!) and a unibrow. Wtf? You know he's going to have a unibrow in the future?
Anyway, the show is still a good idea. Just my thoughts.

It seems very melodramatic. I want to watch it, but the family seems too over the top.

I saw it...I could do without the morphing special effect, but I guess they needed some sort of catch to get people's attention. The parents stood around talking about the morphed pictures as though the projected pics were REAL. Weird.
But, it was pretty interesting. The grandparents next door were sneaking food to the kids, and the doctor who set the "rules" had them join the family for the next meeting and explained to them that their behavior was sending the children mixed messages and had to stop.
When they took the TV out of the daughter's room, she BAWLED and clung to the TV and visited it in the closet and hugged it and talked to it. Disturbing and funny at the same time.
The son adamantly REFUSED to eat any veggies or fruit until the last day or two of filming, and then suddenly fell in love with broccoli of all things! That was very cute. Oh, and the children had to put together an informative skit to explain to their grandparents why sugar is bad for the body, and the grandparents got on the bandwagon. They were obviously equating FOOD with LOVE...and they called their new way of eating a "diet" (we don't use that kind of language in my home, hahahaha) but maybe eventually they'll understand that it's about learning a whole new woe?
I saw bits and pieces of another episode where the son was so incredibly upset by all of the changes that he kept trying to run away from home. I watched that and immediately thought, "I hope people watch this and can finally understand that refined, processed crap, especially white flour and sugar, are DRUGS and the family is suffering withdrawals."
I would have liked to have seen them deal more with teaching the children how to handle peer pressure and food pushers, but who knows what they edit out?
The episode last night ticked me off because the mother was the worst of all the bad influencers. The teo girls, along with the parents had candy everywhere. In drawers, closets, EVERYWHERE. The dad got all into it and was trying and the mom decided to go to the bbq restaurant because she wants "real food". And apparently ketchup is a spice. It was classic, the two girls would attempt to eat something good, the mom would hate it, and the girls suddenly hated it also. In the end, they made some positive changes, but I wanted to throttle the mother for being a twit.

I think it's too dramatic.....the changes are too over the top. You're going to make people who eat processed food all the time eat brussel sprouts and sushi for one of their first healthy meals?! In reality that would be a set up for failure.

Another reason tv sucks. But alas, I watch it anyway.

Wasn't it WC Fields who responded to the question 'do you like children?' with the answer
'Yes, but I couldn't eat a whole one'.

I watch the show last nite and the parents did not make any efforts... I like that show, It might be dramatic but it sounds pretty logical to me, those kids eat too much sugar!
ah John kids these days have too many preservatives, antibiotics and hormones.......aahhh now find me a little hippy child who's parents have been growing him organic now that's a fine feed!

I always find it hilarious how the unhealthy 40 year old has the ugliest glasses ever, like circa 1982 and then the healthy ones get stylish glasses.
Like if you don't start eating right, you're DOOMED to a life of bad fashion choices! *gasp*
The parents last night were something else. I've never seen parents just totally give up like that. "Kids, the moral of this story is, apathy is easy! Yay!"
And Shalom in the home after that....holy he11!

I've only watched the show once or twice and I really hated it. They set the kids up as brats. It's not the kids fault that their parents buy them crap foods and let them stay up half the night watching TV in their rooms. Instead of making one behavioral change at a time, they toss the kids into a situation where they are now eating unfamiliar foods, detoxing from sugar, changing the house rules about TV and video games, and fliming them when they cry about it. I agree that the changes need to be made, but it can be done more humanely than giving a six year old food so different that it makes them puke at the table.
