  • Biggest mistakes when following a new diet plan

There are tons of them so I hope you'll help me out and add your own.
    1) Skipping meals, (you can actually gain weigh by not eating enough food)
    2) Not eating a balanced meal
    3) Rushing through mealtimes instean of taking time to chew and digest food
    4) Liquid diets (need that fiber)
5)Thinking that taking vitamins and supplements will replace the need for healthy food.
    6) Not taking supplements because you think you can get all the nutrients you need from eating well.
    7) Not reading THE BOOK DANDR

What are some mistakes that you made?

                Great thread!

Lack of planning. Being unprepared is asking for trouble.
Seeing it as a temporary thing (until such-and-such happens).
Making excuses for falling off the wagon. THERE IS NO EXCUSE.

Re: Biggest mistakes when following a new diet plan

                        I've done all of these:
Not enough water, not enough exercise, eating the same thing every day, eating sugar alcohols a lot, skipping meals, giving in to carby food as soon as I was in an uncomfortable situation (birthday parties, holidays, work functions, etc.). THAT was a big one.

                            Great reminder post!

As mentioned above, failure to plan. Also, listening to that little voice that says "just one little bite will not hurt you." One definitely leads to two.

Was just reminded by a friend of this attitude....I'll start over on Monday (or next saturday) (or....never). If you fudge up, you can't get hard on yourself and say, well, I'll start over later. Nope, you've got to start over right now.
