  • Never hungry!!!

    The one thing I have noticed this week on induction is that I have to force myself to eat after breakfast. I can eat breakfast and go all day without every feeling the slightest bit hungry....and I have to make myself eat a salad or *something* at night.

    Granted my breakfasts are usually 3 egg omelets with bacon and shredded cheese inside, cooked in butter..... or Pork Rind Mock French Toast and bacon.....and I drink water all day long...but I know my body probably needs more than that. I'm taking a multivitamin and Vit. C and L-glutamine too.

    Anyone else realize that they could really go all day on one meal if left to their own devices?? Sometimes I feel almost nauseous at the thought of having to eat something....and absolutely no cravings anymore!! Oh and the Keto sticks are dark purple all the time, without waver.

    I sometimes I feel like I'm on another planet. Looking for others who are finding it pretty easy.

    I am having the same problem. I don't even want breakfast, I jst had to choke down a 2 egg tomato and chedder omlette. Now I feel blah! I have no appetite!! I don't know if it is because I am bored with my choices and nothing sounds appealing or the whole induction process. I know that not eating will get me in trouble, as it has before. My body stores fat, not knowing when I am I am goin got feed it again!! So, I know I need to eat more frequently.

    So, long story short.... YES, I have the same problem, but have no idea to a resolution; as I have been battling this for a long time-- and STILL overweight despite the fact!

      Yes you have to eat something every six hours. HOWEVER, if you arent hungry, you dont have to eat a full blow meal! Nothing wrong with a cup of cauliflower and some ranch dipping sauce.

      Sonya, thats a lot for breakfast. Do you need that much to feel satisified? (satisfied, not full) I can bearly eat a 2 egg omelet for dinner after a workout without being full.

        congrats on achieving the great appetite suppression of Atkins.

        Now I would strongly suggest you both reread your DANDR. when we are not hungery we are not supposed to force down food unless the 6 hr rule applies and even then weare suppose to eat a small fat/protein snack with some of our veggie carbs.

        Atkins is all about learning to feed only our hunger and stop eating when our hunger is satisfied. That is what will get us to goal beacuse when we first start out we can get away with eating big and lose cause we have many pounds to shed but as we get smaller it takes our bodies less fuel to function doing the exact same things so because we have been over eating our plan and not learning to respond only to hunger as the determining device for when and how much to eat our Atkins stalls out.

        Learn what hunger feels like to you and then go about satisfying it with only as much food as your metabolism needs at that time and you will be a big loser too.

          How about if you are really not hungry in the morning? How long can you wait to eat in the morning if lets say you get up at 7am???

            the rule is 6 waking hours between meals is the maximum time you can go. you can eat a small protein/fat snack with some fo your veggie carbs as soon as you wake up if you want if you are not hungry or wait a bit to get hungry.

            I have to wait an hour after taking my thyroid meds to eat so i always did my workout during that time and then had breakfast after I showered and changed.

              You wait an hour after taking your thyroid meds....I've always taken mine in the morning and just waited about 30 minutes....and my levels are ok...I guess the point is to be consistent so the meds are level. I take .125mg of levothyroxine...but I also take Rx Prilosec, Tenormin, Premarin, plus my multivitamin and Vit C and L-Glutamine....all in the am. I take 150 mg of Zoloft at bedtime too....sigh.

                my pills say to wait one hour to eat or wait 2-3 hours after i eat. if yours have that woarning then you are getting a higher dose cause you don't but that is fine with you and ecomonically you can afford it fine.

                  that is awesome and let me tell part of the beauty of where you are is as you add foods back later you know what foods trigger you by that "hunger" coming back and you also learn to distinguish real hunger from food trigger ..it is all good

                    Try a smaller breakfast and a small lunch of salad or hot veggies. You should both not be skipping meals.
