  • quick question

I'm going to be starting induction next Thursday...I recently had a son and drink diet pepsi like its going out of style. I think I drink it more for the caffeine than for the taste because i've done atkins before and after drinking all that water i didnt like the taste of soda anymore. My question is is there an all natural supplement that i can take to give me energy? I hardly get any sleep at night because of the baby and without the caffeine i dont know if i'll be able to function at first. i have started exercising and definitely feeling not so tired but was just curious if there was something out there that could help me. Thank in advance.

    Re: quick question

I started drinking a gallon of water a day and I have more energy and lost weight because of it. Breathing exercises can help, lemme find the link. Oh ya you just had a baby you know all about breathing..and screaming..and cussing.. and rejoicing!

Those exercises are cool and if you do some of them fast enough you get a free buzz

      Re: quick question

I think that the increased water will help somewhat through the first few days. Also, make sure you get your multi vitamin in each day. A lot of people recommend B-12 but you should probably start taking that a few days ahead so you can get it through your system. Once you get the first few days under your belt, the natural increase in energy should get you back up there.

Congrats on your new baby and you choice to lose the weight!

After the first 3 days (when I had a whopper of an Induction migraine) I have had so much energy that I am jumping out of my skin. I don't think you will have a problem once you get into the habit of it. The extra protein and fat give your body lots of fuel when it needss it. Ask our runners!

I'd make sure that you have a super B complex. Nature made makes a good one. It really does make a differnce. Take it with food at lunch time.

Also, try www.breathwalk.com during your exercise. The results are dramatic.

Finally - lots of water and don't be shy about eating if you need to - provided you vette the carb correctly so you don't go over 20 grams.

            Good Luck. This will help!!

              Re: quick question

Congrats on your new baby! Are you nursing your baby? If so, that will affect what supplements you should take. Make sure you don't add any that will comrpomise your baby's health. I'm sure you thought about that already. Your Dr will be able to help you choose the right supplements/vitamins for you & your baby.

Congrats on your baby. If you are breastfeeding, Dr. Atkins said you can safely do the Maintenance Phase of Atkins because the weight loss phases won't give you the energy and nutrients you need to provide high quality breastmilk for your child. (Ditto with the caffeine, I think pregnant and breastfeeding women are to limit their caffeine to 300mg of less daily, but check with your OB to make certain.)

Pepsi...coke...virgin cola...you know what they all got in common?

Soak rusty stuff in it overnight and it comes out clean as a whistle...
