I've got the stomach flu.......enough said. I want my mommy, but since that's not really realistic at my age, I made some of her "feel better rice pudding". I know, it was a big cheat, but after four days of my body magically turning solids into liquids, I figured hey, it's just going to go through me anyway. Which it did, but now I've got a huge sugar craving and I'm miles and miles away from a carton of low carb ice cream. And of course taking a road trip till things clear up is completely out of the question. Maybe if I empty a pack of Splenda into my water bottle that will help?
Does anyone have any advice on how to get through this without saltines and ginger ale?
On the bright side, I've probably lost about 6 pounds, but I'm not counting anything until things "stabilize".
Go get a flu shot. And tell your kids to wash their hands.

Fill up on water to replenish what you have lost and it should take away the craving just from filling up your stomach. Might be hard to chug a ton of water right now but it works for me Make some one go get you sugar free jello that will do it!

LOL why are two things like rice and pudding so good together? Crazy

Scrambled Eggs might be easy on the stomach, you might want to try that.

The only thing that ever helped me with the stomach flu trots was almost burnt dry wholemal toast. I don't know what you can substitue for that under Atkins!

            FLAX?????? ARE YOU CRAZY????? ROTFL!!!!!!!!
I wouldn't dare! HA-HA-HA!!!!! Seriously though, thanks so much for the help.
Actually, I'm feeling somewhat better this morning, and I'm thinking about frying up some eggs.
Jacks- I don't know who the first one was to put rice and pudding together, but I'll bet it happened late one night in a frantic carb frenzy refrigerator raid. I had a mashed potato sandwich once on a similar level.........

Small amounts of flax are good for keepings things moving, too much flax will stop you up. I speak from personal experience.
I couldn't figure out what my problem was and kept treating it with more flax. Duh. That was my issue. So a little flax my actually help a bit. It doesn't work like ex-lax. It swells up and gives your body something to move around.

              Glad you are feeling better!

Ahhhhh! I had no idea that flax was so versatile! Thanks!
It's lunchtime and I'm 'holding my own' so I'm not gonna stir anything up just yet.
I appreciate all of the advice!

Sorry I'm late chiming in, but maybe it'll help someone else. When I got sick, the almond crackers on Linda's recipe site SAVED me. If you've reached the nut rung of OWL, I highly recommend them.
