    Quick Question:

For lunch at work I either have a low carb burger for Carls Jr. or a tuna wrap from subway. Both have 7 carbs. Is this a good lunch?

    THANKS

They taste good I know that much Those wraps taste almost too good....
As far as if its good for lunch you will have to wait for someone who is a pro as I just sit back and admire their knowledge.

Depends what Phase of Atkins you are in... 7 net carbs for one meal seems pretty high for Induction (and I bet the ingredients of the wraps aren't legal for Induction anyway)....

The wraps are made with wheat but everything inside the wraps are legal so long as you don't get any weird (unknown ingredients type) sauce and just stick to mayo, ranch, bleu cheese, etc.

That technically makes it illegal until rung 9 but I must confess that I have turned to this choice in a pinch. Only once in 6 months, mind you. That being said, they are good, they are a bit illegal and they are (in my opinion) okay in a pinch. I wouldn't make them, or anything else not on your rung, a staple in my diet just yet.

          Happy low carbing!

I've done the Atkins wraps from Subway. I think they're "OK", but you can do lunch for a lot less than 7grams. What's in the Carl's burger that makes it 7 grams? That's a whole lot for a burger. I've had burgers w/may and steamed veggies that would count for just a few grams.

              Re: subway wrap

Based on the rules of induction they will not be legal if they contain wheat!! As cypressgirl said - they will be legal once you reach the grains rung/level of OWL.

So you can eat the filling on induction, assuming it contains only induction-friendly ingredients, but not the wrap!
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!

there are many other healthy alternatives to those 'wraps'. Please be careful, just because something is labeled 'Atkins' or 'low carb' doesn't always mean that it is ok to eat.
What would we do without it?
