I am back to the board after having a baby. Last time i was on was 2004. I cant find the answer anywhere but what is rep power?

It is our ability to control the universe! With rep power we can use just our minds to move objects and impose our will on others. MUAHAHAHA I cant wait to get to rep power of 2 then I will be able to move a pencil 1/64 of an inch across a flat surface.

Hey serious I only have a rep power of 1 :*( LOL that is sad, how do I make it higher? If my dad saw my rep power right now he would be so disappointed lol. I think in other words it means under any circumstance do not take my word or advice for anything, which actually could be pretty accurate LOL haha.

I have no idea what it means but mines low I know that much lol.

It was my understanding that if a person likes what you say in a post or what you are doing etc... they can give you a rep point by clicking on that symbol that looks like a scale. You can also put in a comment why you gave them a point. Just something for us to use to encourage each other.

It's just like....ranking.
I have lots of rep points, with comments from people (because they have to give you a reason as to why they're giving you rep points) saying things like "good advice" "well done on your acheivement" and such.

The more points you get, the higher your rep power

Ah, this is the question of the hour to all new folks. If you click on the User UCP up top, then scroll down you will see notes left for you that added to your reputation.
If you want to help someone's "rep" or leave them a note click on the "scale" figure on the top right of their post, above their join date.

also, your post count goes to your total rep power. The more you post, the higher you go.

What about the green boxes? What do they mean?

Also, sometimes they are darker green and other times they are lighter green -- what does that mean?

aaaaaaaahhhhhhhh the rep question. There is a difference between the boxes and the number. The more you rep and get repped the more boxes and numbers you get. Kinda like the love you get is equal to the love you give!

As users gain reputation, they are associated with a moniker that describes their current level. That is where the "beacon of light" thing comes in.

• The user that received the reputation
• The date and time the reputation was left
• The amount of reputation this user received
• The reason or comment the user giving the reputation left
• The post that prompted this user to leave reputation

But, not finding why some of the boxes are greener.
The rep power you have is the # the number above the green boxes.

yeah.....doing a search on "bright green boxes" is just not working!
