  • Feeling Munchy: Any thoughts on the trigger?

My lunch is making me feel *very* munchy....

I am due for TOM soon, so it could be related to that but I really don't think so.

    Here's what was in it...

    Tofu, squeezed dry
    Butter and Sesame Oil
    shiritaki noodles
    soy sauce (1T)
    chili sauce (1 tsp)
    sesame seeds (3/4 T)

I know there is a mega-lack of veggies there, but trust me that the veggies are not an issue

I'm on extended modified induction (20 g carb or less/day, but sometimes a non-induction ingredient like the seeds or tofu). I was craving something Asian, and this hit the spot, but now I'm really munchy!!

Thanks in advance. Just wondering which of those could be the most likely culprit!

Yikes, I think it must have just been too many higher-rung foods in one meal. Good grief, I feel awfully "crave-y" right now though! I am making some bacon to get things back on track.....

Lesson learned. I mean, I'm still highly in ketosis, so it didn't jack with that, but apparently one of those foods is a bad food for me! I'm actually thinking it might be the tofu. Haven't had that in a LONG time.

My first question is, instead of "extended induction" with non induction items, why not start owl? It's at no one's pace but your own.

Your munchiness could be due to the carb count, introducing new foods, not enough water, TOM, not enough fat. If you feel like you want more variety, move onto owl, that's the best thing I could offer.

Well, 95% of the time, seriously, I stick to strict induction. I know that sounds bogus considering the number of items above LOL! But I'm talking every week or two I may have *one* meal that contains a higher rung item. I honestly don't get that bored with the induction foods... and I'm really not quite ready for more than 20 carbs, I know that for sure!

Thanks for the input! I am really thinking it was the tofu. I don't care to test that theory though! So I'll just go back to my strict induction and carry on! I didn't munch on anything bad.... just didn't like the feeling. I'm a little paranoid though

I get wonky around TOM for no particular reason, it is weird.

Yeah, I know what you guys mean... my temperature even runs about a degree higher the week right before my TOM. Odd stuff.
No stats. Not weighing anymore ever. Will post "before and after" pictures when I want to. The end.

LOL! I do that by taking 3 continous packs of birthcontrol. Don't have to go through the PMS as often.

TOM always gives me munchies, so do noodles. But did you consider the soy sauce? Look what's in it! Sugar! http://www.kikkoman-usa.com/_pages/m...rising_soy.asp

Yikes! Just ran and checked and my soy sauce doesn't list sugar in the ingredients, but says 1 carb per tablespoon.

Oh well, I will learn from this and move on. It wasn't anything dramatic or anything, I just figure the more I evaluate what causes me to crave or triggers the munchies, the better.... kwim?

Nevermind, it is just PMS. Because I ate dinner and am munchie again and dinner was nothing special (broccoli, chicken breast, cream sauce, romano cheese).

                      Stupid TOM!
