  • Converting people to atkins....

So here's a funny little story. I've mentioned that I train 5 days a week. 4 of those days with a trainer. The boy is VERY active, muscular, etc. BUT he wanted an eating plan that he could eat like the "garbage can" that he is and not have to worry about gaining weight. A diet that didn't leave him lagging while he was out coaching on the soccor field etc.
So here am I. I start Atkins. I didn't even tell him until after I was done with my first two weeks. HE noticed the weight loss in me and asked what I was doing differently. Well when I told him, I expected to have my head handed to me. Nope. He just got really curious and started asking lots of questions.
When I came back from my trip and had been able to stay on atkins (plus vodka) and lose 5lbs and STILL not be hungry or feel deprived, he started asking MORE questions. LOL one day he aksed if he could borrow my Atkins book.
YUP!! He is on it now. I keep getting calls. "Can I eat this?" "Can I do that?"
I find myself dolling out advise to him that I have read here. Tips, tricks, and the ever present "Did you read the book?!" And yes.... I haven't told him yet but I can already see a difference.
He has some clients that he really wants to have go on Atkins, but he didn't want to recommend any diet that he hadn't tried himself. So far so good for him. He is TOTALLY enjoying being on this eating plan.
Hehehehe at least one more for team atkins.

What an awesome feeling! Convincing your trainer to follow your is super cool. Congrats on your success in converting new people to this WOE, and I hope you were quick to mention this site for his clients.

I just hope the woe works as well for him as it has for me and that he passes it on to his other clients.
Oh and I think I will just let him keep my book and I will have to go and get another one.

Great story! It's amazing that he is in the field and was still treating his body that way. He must be young

Yeah he's young. It's not that he was treating his body badly. He darn well burns off whatever it is he eats, but you know those years creep up on yah..... and the old metabolism slows down..... Also I was explaining to him the benefits of the atkins woe in regards to lower cholesterol, insulin levels, triglicerides etc. His family has a history of heart problems, so that got him very interested in atkins.
