  • How many calories?

I know we shouldn't focus on the # but by using fitday, it automatically tallys the calories. I have been a bit higher than I think I need to be.

For those using a computerized (or manual) nutrition/diet program- how many calories to you consume on average per day?

    Re: How many calories?

Are you on induction, kjspea? Most of us find we dont need to worry about calories eaten but concentrate on eating the right number of carbs along with eating according to the induction rules and induction-allowed foods list.

If you are concerned about your choice and amounts of foods why not post a request in the 'review my menu' forum for some member input?

You can make your fitday account viewable by clicking on the home tab once you have logged into your account and scrolling down to the 'make my journal public' button. Fitday will give you a url that you can post here so we can see your entries.
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?

      Thanks [B]Elizellen

I am still on induction but reaching 3,000 calories, which is much more than I burn a day. I was pretty surprised to see how much I consume in a day, it's no wonder I am not losing like I would have thought. I will have to adjust my foods I guess, as I never get quite get the almost 'full' or satiated feeling.

        Re: How many calories?

You don't say what your weight is, so I am only guessing that you know your Basal Caloric Rate and it is lower than that. I personally would and have not stressed about my intake much as some days I was/am hungrier than others. Those days usually had no correlation with weight loss days either. If getting "full" or feeling satisfied is difficult, perhaps you should change to more smaller meals. No meal will completely make you feel waddle around, "can't-eat-another-bite" full, but nor will you have long to wait either before eating again. Pretty soon, you'll be used to the smaller portion sizes. Just an option....

          Re: How many calories?

Ok, these people are much more knowledgable than I, but may I ask what you're eating to achieve this number? I have a feeling that a lot of it is cheese, since the first day I chronicled my diet on fitday, I realized just how incredible highly caloric the stuff was. And if that's the case, you know what you need to cut down on. Again, this is just a shot in the dark. But without eating lots of bready stuff, I can't even imagine how else you're reaching that many in a single day.

As an aside, are you making sure the measurements are accurate in the calculations? Slices and not whole tomatoes, ounces and not cups of cheese, etc.?

            Re: How many calories?

I usually eat around 1500-1700 calories a day. I wouldn't worry about calories until you get out of Induction, unless you are eating after you are full. If you only eat till you are satisfied, you will be fine.
Are you eating your 3 cups veggies? That helps with the calories, veggies are naturaly high in fiber and low in calories.
What would we do without it?
