    Re: meat in pic?

I dont think it is. It looks like meat you get from Kebab/Burger vans when you've been out drinking. I doubt its 100% meat and would possibly have some sort of bread filler (like frozen burgers or sausages) or something in it?

    Someone agree with me please!!

It looks like it's supposed to be lamb in a gyro, however, I can't remember where, but years ago I think someone told me it wasn't "true" meat. Not quit sure what it is, but I could be wrong.

Actually, it looks more like gyro meat to me. In which case it's just a combination of lamb and beef.

Depends on where it's purchased from. If it's an upscale Greek restaurant, chances are that the lamb is sliced and skewered from actual cuts of meat. If it's from a place like "Gyro's", it's processed, packaged in "loafs" and shipped out to individual franchises for reheating. The latter is pretty nasty and filled with all sorts of preservatives and fillers. The restaurant stuff is generally fine. But it certainly couln't hurt to inquire wherever it is purchased.

Both donner and gyro meat will depend on what the person fixing them used. Some are like a pressed meatloaf and have cracker or breadcrumbs in them as a binder. Others are spice and pure meat. unless you can actually see the ingredients list for the food don’t put it in your mouth hoping you got all meat no filler cause that would be very rare indeed.

I think that pretty much says it all right there. If you got it from some cheap-o shoddy chip shop, it's probably safe to assume that it's not good for you.

That is what we call doner kebab meat, and it is not pure meat at all. Full of fillers and such like.

If getting food from a british kebab shop, go for a Shish kebab, (minus the pitta of course.
