I have a question that has been on my mind since I heard it on the radio; there's a show here in Dallas called "The New You Show" on Live 105.3 and it's basically a weight loss show. they are big advocates of a low carb life style, but they said that one should limit their intake of diet soda, because the body does not distinguish between artificial sweetner (splenda) and regular sugar. when the sweet taste hits the tounge the brain triggers the release of insulin regardless of the sweet source. and basically that the body has caught on to the sugar subsitute and weight will still be gained from the use of sweetners because every sugar subsitute has some degree of sugar in it. so basically to make a long story short, I usually drink Sam's Choice flavored sugar free water because it's carbonated like soda without any calories, carbs, etc., is this a good thing?
