  • If your considering exercise...read this.

    I started an Stair climbing exercise challenge here (Mt.Everest climb) 4 days ago and have done about 1/3rd of the climb.
    My body is melting before my eyes!
    I was stuck in size 36 pants on my 3rd belt hole.
    4 days into the challenge I can now wear size 34 pants and I am on the 4th belt hole!
    I can't wait to see what the weight change is. (I only weigh myself once a week)
    My shirts are starting to hang straight down and my belly is disappearing!
    Thanks to ADBB for the continuing inspiration!

    It never ceases to amaze me of how easy and how effective this ***diet*** is!!




    I have since re-gained a bit of weight, but that is soon to be coming off again!

            You most likely needed some good push ( or kick? )... and then it just went going... down the drain !!

              Wow Jack, that's awesome! Good for you! But... what're you going to do when you get to the top of Everest? Maybe you could calculate how many flights to the moon! Adds a whole new meaning to "the sky's your limit"!!! (ok... space then) Lol.

                Blimey! what sort of stairmaster program was that? Can I do it on my stairs at home??

                Mind you climbing a third of the way up everest in 4 days is just as huge an accomplishment!

                Maybe you could do it in front of the freezer with someone with a wind machine throwing ice chips at you to make it really realistic?

                      I'll be where you are starting Sunday(first day after induction). I'm pretty sure that my weight loss will stall a bit the first few days that I exercise(I like both cardiovascular and resistance stuff), so I wanted to make sure I lost a good 15-20 pounds before I started. Congratulations!

                        That's awesome! A friend of mine swears by the stair stepper too... I've never been into it because it's much to hard! lol.
                        But if we're talking about those kinds of results... a little pain might kill all that I've gained...

                        Started Dec 2005 and lost 105 lbs by mid 2006, maintained loss for the most part until 2009...then really let go & gained some back... lol

                          Well thanks for the kind words...I'm only 1/3 of the way there.
                          Even though I'm overweight, I have always participated in alot of physical activity.
                          I did start on the Stairmaster about 6 weeks ago, so the climbing challenge came at a good time for me. Plus I really like it because it produces no ill effects on my body.
                          Last year I solo hiked 114 miles on the Long Trail in Vermont. My overall goal is to loose a total of 40lbs. before I hit the trail in September. I have approx. 165 miles left to hike to finish the Long Trail. I need to loose the weight so I can hike along and enjoy the trail and minimize the knee issues I experienced last year. My pack was too heavy (at 46lbs) and I was too heavy at 205lbs.
                          I can't wait to step on the scale and see how I did this week!
