The short answer, Saab is 'Yes it is wrong'
Look at the list of acceptable beverages and foods here http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.c...ead.php?t=6781
and you will see milk is not on it - so is not allowed on induction. Milk can be reintroduced (if your body can handle it) when you reach the dairy rung/level of the main weightloss phase of Atkins (OWL).
Our main drink is WATER which if you read the link I gave you on a different thread
1) regulates body temperature
2) makes up 83% of blood
3) removes waste
4) composes 75% of the brain
5) helps carry nutients and oxygen to cells
6) moistens oxygen for breathing
7) helps convert food to energy protects and cushions vital organs
9) helps body absorb nutients
10) accounts for 22% of bones
11) cushions joints
12) makes up 75% of muscles
and you should be drinking 64 fluid ounces of it a day plus another 8 ounces for every 25 pounds you want to lose.
If maths is not your strong subject then aim to drink half an ounce for each pound you weigh. For me at 140 pounds I need to drink 70 fluid ounces a day (about 2 litres)
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies? Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!
Re: Need help and advice as i am a newbie on Atkins.
I wish I could get my hubby to join in with me. He's 6 feet and weighs about 220. He needs to drop a few pounds and swears he can do it on his own. lol, if only he knew about this natural appetite suppression--he's be begging to join in.
The other night I was flipping through the Atkins book after dinner. He'd eaten chicken, a yam, and some a huge portion of mixed vegetables. He thought he had a balanced dinner and I laughed when I looked up how many carbs were in that yam he scarfed. Needless to say, about a half hour after he'd finished eating that huge yam he was in the fridge again pulling out a bunch of fruit. What can you do--lol.
Oh well, at least you guys are doing it together! That is awesome. You guys should exercise together. That could be so much fun.
Re: Need help and advice as i am a newbie on Atkins.
Woops, I just saw there was a page 2 to this thread--lol.
Maybe you could get your husband to do some "non-exercise" exercises?? Why not invite him to the mall and just browse around for a while. A couple of hours walking the mall could be a ton of fun.
How about since the weather is nice, go out to a local park and take out a row boat or one of those paddle ones? That could be great fun and a ton of exercise.
Or maybe you could convince him to take up dance lessons with you?
A little creativity can go a long way when it comes to getting in some exercise.
Re: Need help and advice as i am a newbie on Atkins.
you guys are so supportive .... to answer meena beena - yes we do go to the mall and do walk . but i want to do some serious excercise . and i dont know about him but i will start soon.
Ska- very nice way but my hubby wont budge . he is too lazy to even walk let alone excercise.... hahahaaaa... i guess i will start doing and then he will follow me .
And Elize - Thanks for the link, the reason why we both were drinking milk was we thought as long as we can stay under 20 gms of carb its ok. well i guess we were wrong... i will stop it from tomorrow... Thank you everyone ...
Re: Need help and advice as i am a newbie on Atkins.

My weight is the same , so I am wondering if I am losing in inches why isn’t the weight coming down . I am happy to be losing in inches as I can actually see the difference.
