  • Normal Healthy Weight

    Lost 2 pounds this week. Down to 173.

    For a 5'10" Male, that is a 24.8 BMI - Normal/Healthy Weight.

    Started not that long ago on my 2nd go round with Atkins as an OBESE person at 240+ pounds. I've never been at a healthy weight.

    I love this WOE.

    If I can do this, anyone can.

      That is AWESOME! How long ago did you start Atkins? You look fab and it must feel great to have your body uncovered from all those pounds.

          Great job! You're doing fantastic -- such an inspiration.
          June Goals
          1. Continue with water
          2. Use bike more (3x per week would be nice).
          3. Continue with videos.
          4. Go to the YMCA for water classes.
          5. Build stamina for more walking.


          Goals for May:
          1. Water every day - at least 100 oz.
          2. Walk through Wal Mart instead of ride.
          3. Post every day.
          4. Get the exercise bike out of basement and use it!
          5. Re-read DANDR! It's been too long.

            Rich, that's awesome! I assume you're a runner, hence the username , what else do you do for exercise?

            BTW, you need to update your pic. You're 20lbs lighter now!

              I have lost the last 52 pounds or so since about November. I had kept the other 20 off fo the 6 months or so before that.

              As far as exercise, I'm running 40-50 miles a week at the moment and barely have the time to get that in. Not much other exercise other than helping at the baseball practices of my two boys.

                    I looked in my little diet book that I use for the 'ideal' weight charts (it's a -shock, horror - calorie counter). It says a 5'10" male should be between 10stone 5 lb (149 lbs - a stone is 14 lbs) or 66kg and 11st 10 lbs (164 lbs) or 74kgs. You are not within this range yet, but your goal of 160 sits very frimly in the centre and shoudl be about right. I use this guide because it is older, published 1976. In the last 20 years the ideal weight charts have shifted to a higher range - I think reflecting the growing size of individuals in our society.

                      Wow.... that's awesome... I have more modest goals to its nice to see someone go above and beyond

                      I'm at 190 or so right now and trying to get down around 180...

                        Super Great Job Rich!!! You Look like a Completely Different man! Those Leg Muscles are HUGE!!

                        Oh and Odille, Isn't it bizarre how the acceptable weights went up...I was thinking that the other day, I LOVE Vintage clothing and RARELY if EVER find anything in a Size Larger than 16, and that 16 is approx. TODAYS Size 12 (Usa)...Sad...

                        But we are on the RIGHT path!!
