Hello and welcome to the board.

I have read through your foods above, and you are eating a lot of foods that are not induction legal, and that will be the reason you arent losing as much as you could.

If you havent already, I suggest you buy a copy of Dr Atkins New Diet Revolution (DANDR) version 2002.

But here I have included links of the rules of induction and the foods that can be eaten.

what kind of foods above are not allowed?i thought unprocessed bran is allowed to prevent constipation as it has zero carbs net.
also, cocoa per tbsp is 1 carbs nett..
unsweetened soy milk is 0.2g carbs per 100ml..

plz help me..i've read the book..but i'm still confused ..

Unsweetened soy milk is not on the list of induction foods. Nor is the cocoa powder. You also are not supposed to drink caffeine during induction either, so no tea I am afraid.

The spaghetti sauce is also not permitted.

        Sorry.

The best piece of advice I can give, is really just not to eat / drink anything that doesnt appear on the list of approved foods. Especially in the first 2 weeks of induction. A squeaky clean induction is so so important.

I also noticed that you're eating a lot of "induction bread" in lieu of protein sources (meats/fish/chicken). That means that you're likely going over the 3T of flax/psyllium/unprocessed bran that's allowed for induction. Also, 2Big would tell you that you're not supposed to be eating more psyllium than what you need to keep the bowels moving. I doubt you're this constipated! Are you vegetarian? If so, you'll need to make other modifications and not eat so much flax. As Rich said, it's not so much that you're eating too much, as eating the wrong things. Good luck!

            nad,

You are having too much processed and powdered food.

            Meat - non-cured and
low GI induction veggies should be your focus.

I don't know what induction bread is, but I would ditch it.

Re: i think i eat too much!!what do you think??

well actually Rich if we check Dr Atkins groupings unsweetened cocoa powder is a spice not a food and all spices are allowed.
Also if the ingredients in the spaghetti sauce are induction legal then the sauce is induction legal. read your label carefully to be sure yours has no added sugar. Mant commercial brands do. you can make your own from scratch and avoid that issue using your induction acceptable veggies with some herbs and spices.

The only person who can answer the question you ask about eating too much is you. Did you eat only enough food each time you ate to satisfy your hunger at the time you ate? if you didn't stop when your hunger was satisfied and continued to eat cause you had room in your belly, food on the plate carbs in your budget or it just plain tasted good then you over ate your Atkins.

One of the biggest things Atkinseers learn is to only feed hunger and stop when hunger is satisfied. Once you master that concept you will be a big loser.

Now about your foods. Are you or were you constipated during your induction? if so you can add the fiber but count the carbs and once you get unclogged you can keep the fiber to prevent more but remember fiber holds fluid in your intestines and that will add pounds to your scale numbers.

Re: i think i eat too much!!what do you think??

4-5 tablespoons of cocoa powder is much more than the 3 teaspoons we talked about in PM, so it really cant be considered as being used in 'spices' quantities unless it was a typo and you really meant teaspoons?!?!

As Rich and 2big suggested you do need to look at the allowed list of foods to make your choices, not just the carb counts of foods when on induction.

So the soy milk would be 'legal' once you reach the legumes rung/level of OWL - or real milk when you reach the second rung which is dairy products.
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?

Re: i think i eat too much!!what do you think??

Oh - and remember Dr Atkins told us to get over half of our carbs from our veggies - so perhaps use higher carb ones if you can to follow this rule.

And try to spread them out over the day to avoid blood sugar spikes from a large 'hit' of carbs!

Re: i think i eat too much!!what do you think??

I've just noticed ur liquid intake. Ur drinking 3 ltrs of water which is fantastic but you also mention tea and soy milk. Tea has caffiene in it which slows down weightloss, unless ur drinking herbal tea which I dont think has any caffiene? Unsure of that one as I dont drink herbal or fruit tea. I would suggest to just drink ur 3 ltrs a day and not drink any tea or soy milk for 2 weeks. Then weigh urself again and I bet you will have lost some more weight.

I dont like the idea that you eat so much 'induction bread', those 2 words just dont go together! I feel that you could introduce some more variety in to ur diet as you have no meat (protein) on ur menu. But u could be a vegetarian. Also try and spread out the 'good carbs' (salads and veggies) as you seem to be putting the 2-3 cups of salad for your dinner when you will need the carbs during the day too. Have a cup of salad for lunch with some grilled chicken and bacon.

Re: i think i eat too much!!what do you think??

You aren't doing Atkins at all. Please read all the stickies at the top of the induction forum, and also read the 2002 DANDR. If you were eating the right
foods you could have as much of them as you desire, certainly to a comfortably full point.

Its pretty clear from your comments that you are playing by the rules of low fat dieting. You need to let go of it.

Where in the world is your veggies, your chicken skin, your meat fat, your butter - the substances that chemically trigger the brain?

Don't know what diet you are on but it sure ain't
Atkins. There is no bread, of any kind on induction.

what i meant by induction 'bread' is not a real bread.i got the recipe from somewhere..
the recipe is--->eggs,bran/flaxseed(optional),1/2 tsp of baking powder

                        that's all!no flour.no sugar..
i spread them with butter and a little splenda.and i forgot to mention..i also make sure i take 3 cups of salads a day..

as for bran,i will try to control it .i will only take 1T a day..

i love eggs so much and sometimes,i don't have time to cook any meats..i will try to avoid soy milk as well..and also tea..

but, just one question..is it ok to consume ~8 eggs a day??really, whats the max. amount of eggs i can eat??

Maybe you can have your 'induction bread' once a week as a treat but having it in place of 2 meals a day isn't good for you.

Add lots of meat and vegetables. You should go to the 'review my menu' forum and take a look at what some of those people are eating.

                            You can eat eggs liberally.

why don't you set a side a couple of hours and cook up a weeks worth of food and then bag it and store it in your freezer and fridge. then you come in grab a bag nuke it and poof you got your cooked meal.

Dr Atkins advised us to rotate our protein sources so we don't develope an allergy to any of them. Coming from somebody who developed an allergy to soy protein I'd tell you that is great advice and one you should take to heart. You don't want to become egg allergic.

If you need more then one T of the flax or bran you can use it per rule 12 for constipation control and eat it anyway you want.

if you need bread checkout Not2lates revollution rollz. she had altered Dr Atkins old recipe to be induction legal with the new rules from 2002. just eggs and cream cheese.
